SSF4: AE 2012 – Hakan Reset Technology by Infiltration

VesperArcade has uploaded this new video by Infiltration that goes over a new piece of Hakan technology. It only works on standing opponents, but it allows you to connect an oil dive after a simple block string. The opponent can DP, or in some circumstances jab out of it but Hakan has responses to both of these escapes if you can get a read on your opponent.

The point of this that all of you are missing is that it’s an uncrouchable setup for Oil Dive, and thus it does things like catch backdashes and jumping. Oil Dive is not a normal command throw.

He was definitely crouching with Seth and didn’t get caught by the oil dive. It wasn’t even an SS setup where it could beat DP’s. There’s no reason for someone to jump on Hakan with an ultra either. The great thing about this video is that after these pokes you can punish back dashers. This should have stuck to Hakan forums lol

In the description it says ‘block string’ but the video doesn’t actually show it working against any blocking opponents. Does it work if they’re blocking?

The answers would make a huge difference on how useful this is. The way this is setup its basically a combo that you get unscaled oil dive damage off of, which is pretty meh.
