New Optical Flash1 Joystick From Happ and Rollie Electronics

Happ and Rollie are building this new version of the Flash1 using the molds and schematics of the original. The result of this is a stick that the stick that has the same feel and response as the original Flash1. Like the similar Toodles Spark optical PCB, the kit requires an existing JLF – the optical sensor simply goes where the TP-MA sits in a regular, clicky, JLF.  As an added bonus, the Flash1 2011 kit comes with the same transparent blue shaft cover and yellow “FLASH1″ dust disc as the original Flash1.

Rollie has long been known among arcade stick enthusiasts and modders for providing decent alternatives to the standard Japanese parts in todays arcade sticks. Their version of the Flash1 is no exception, made using the same molds and schematics as the original Flash that should guarantee the same level of performance. Like the similar Toodles Spark, the kit requires an existing JLF – the optical sensor simply goes where the TP-MA sits in a regular, clicky, JLF.  As an added bonus, the Flash1 2011 kit comes with the same transparent blue shaft cover and yellow “FLASH 1” dust disc as the original Flash1. 

The release date and pricing for this have yet to be finalized. Rollie stated that they are still working on some things before they can set a ship date. In the meantime, here are some comparison pics between the Rollie Flash1 2011 and the original Sanwa Flash 1.
