Arcade Challengers DLC Costume Pack Causing Game Freeze on Xbox SSFIV:AE 2012

It turns out that there is a game breaking bug in one of the DLC costume packs for the Xbox version of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012. It only affects the Arcade Challengers pack, but it affects anyone who purchases it. The bug will make the game freeze if you attempt to enter the Xbox marketplace from the main menu of the game. Luckily, the bug is totally avoidable and doesn’t affect gameplay at all. It just makes purchasing more content a hassle.

Capcom and Microsoft are both working on a fix for the issue right now. Capcom promises that bug fixing support for the game will continue until it is stable. We will bring you more updates on this issue as they become available.

Seems like xbox is always fucking up: net code patches released for both systems only actually fix the ps3 problems, and random shit like this that doesn’t affect the ps3 version…glad I don’t have an xbox. Xbox just appears to have random problems out the ass.

I guess freezing the game might be considered game breaking, but I’m sure a quick dashboard restart could fix it…

I believe you can do it the regular DLC way, but going to the appropriate section of the marketplace etc.

This sh*t happened to me too! I tried to download AE2012 last week… I
looked for it in the SSF4 main menu > XBL Marketplace menu but
obviously i couldn’t find it since the AE2012 update had not been
released yet. (And NO I’m not retarded. I just didn’t know the real
release date of the update so i checked on a random day to see if it was
up yet. All i knew was “DECEMBER 2012, AE2012 COMES OUT! LOLOLOL!!”
…F*cking Capcom and their vague-ass statements)

anyway, every time i went to AE DOWNLOADS or whatever that menu was
called, the game froze up. It didn’t even let me see the DLC that was
available… It just crashed as soon as i tried to open the menu. Oh
well, makes no difference to me. i’m done spending money on the SF4
games anyway.

I thought it had more to do with the 360 dashboard update than the game itself. Oh well. Guess I won’t try to go shopping for DLC in the middle of a ranked match.

Yeah, this issue only popped up with the new update to the Dash Microsoft put out last week. Why Capcom doesn’t simply have the pack available through the standard XBL Marketplace is head-scratching.

I had an issue last week where every time it tried to check for DLC the game would freeze. I had to delete all my DLC and re-download it it. Fixed it, but was still strange.

there is another bug (don’t know if is caused by the costume pack cause I have it) but it also affects if you take your AE dlc to another console via USB (using SSF4 disc and the files of the game) on the Press Start screen, when you press start, it freezes and have to restart the console.

Since were sharing bugs, if I play ssf4 offline with my fight stick it freezes when I push start at the main menu. It works just fine if I use a controller tho and of course I can use my fight stick if I’m signed into XBL. Not sure if this is an actual bug or not, I did buy the game off the market if that makes a difference.

Aha, according to the Capcom Japanese website there is a pending a tentative fix date for this on Tuesday, February 21st patch. Of course being the Japanese site and me having no insider information on how this works, I don’t know if that is for Japan only, or if this patch is for all regions…but hey it’s something after this long period of silence.
