These combos are all really, really bad. Viper can easily get much more damage then that solo without using even a 3rd that much meter.

In all seriousness though, i appreciate that he’s trying to help the community and all that but these combos are absolute crap if you’ve even spent a couple of hours in the training room with her.

Remember when people used to say Viper wasn’t good back in the day cuz she was a meter whore? You ‘member. (George Lopez voice)

Even if the point was to use meter there are better combos that could have been done here. He’s just throwing ex moves around all willy nilly. 

viper is a legitimately complicated character, but even still, i can’t imagine that viper needs to use that much meter to be effective. Though it is good to know the principles of her relaunching and why her EX moves are good.

my video similarly doesn’t optimize vergil to any extent, i just try to show the different things he can do. Though i’ll see if i can’t muster up a showcase of the best situation combos i know when i get around to it.

Box Dash and Tri-Jump are easier then these combos and lead to better, more meter efficient damage.

this video is terrible… Gotnoskillz, crisis, desk, and marlinpie have waaaaaaaaaaaaay better 1 or 2 bar combos combos that can do atleast 750k to 900k.. not to mention she one of the few characters that can gain 2 bars by herself and level 3 you in one combo… if anything the brady game guide gives you better combos…. this video should be deleted… never though I’d be ashamed to main my favorite character

I don’t know why SRK’ers like to be so harsh.  Yeah, it’s not the best combo showcase available, but give the guy credit for making an effort, which is more than what most people on the site do.

I give him credit for the creativity, but I agree w/ alot of others that…well, the combos aren’t BAD, just not the most practical. I main Viper (Ammy and Mag), and though they are ok combos, wasting 5 meters isn’t practical, in either anchor or point. If anything, you can do combos that build up a meter, rack up on hits, damage, and use the meter you just built. So she can be optimized better than shown. I can see the use in these combos if you have the win already locked and you want to be stylish just to waste meter, but even then, that’s a risk because there’s a chance the opponent might survive the combo.

Good stuff, just not the most practical. No hate (I ride for all Viper players), just constructive criticism. :>

I admittedly have nothing good to say about the video, but I have nothing -destructive- to say either. The start and end of it is that this unfortunately isn’t Marlin or Kbeast and these combos won’t really help Viper at a higher end of the game. People who play a character like her have to take it extremely seriously and be willing to break their hands over the dashes and other required inputs for her.

I think these viper combos are a good place to start, Viper is definitely execution heavy so learning these though they are very impractical at higher level couldn’t hurt. Viper is my main as well, I recently had a video featured in one of the UMVC3 Roundups (Dec 5th or 6th I believe), and the final combo in the vid was my Viper BnB which is a ToD on any character with 970K or less HP for one meter, builds 1.65 bars mid combo and can DHC into about 1,170,000 damage. It took me a while to get the execution for it consistent to the point where I could perform it reliably in a match but it’s there now… Just a lot of work. I respect Minimal Rabbit for taking the time to create a video and put his combos out there, nothing bad to say. Hopefully he keeps working on his Viper and learns to do some really cool stuff with her!

I don’t know how accurate that statistic is, I give props to him for trying, but this wasn’t a great display really.  But props to the guy for trying.  Could have incorporated optic blast or something for some of these, double seismo super jump combo’s, idk man, this left much to be desired.  There was some stylish stuff, but it wasn’t at all practical.  If you burn 4 meters on a character you better at least come close to killing them, also no damage output displayed for these combo’s either.

At the end of the day…if you know better Viper combos, I don’t see you guys posting them to help the community? I agree that they may be sub-par in content, but the FGC is made up of guys like him who contribute…even in the smallest ways possible.

If you draw a terrible picture for a display and you ask your friend his opinion on it, you’ll probably want the honest opinion instead of the one that spares your feelings. Otherwise you’re gonna keep putting crap on display.

This is a great combo vid, if you are playing a group of ten year olds and want to find a way to convincingly lose intentionally but not really kill for like four bar combos

Viper in different circumstances. I never actually main C. Viper nor do I intend to. Anyway, I accept criticism, but as I said before, I just did it to present this particular combo situation.
