Niitsuma Tweets About UMVC3 – Patch Coming Before the End of the Year

UMVC3 producer Ryota Niitsuma answered a couple questions about UMVC3 on his Twitter feed today. The first came from zyayokuhotenjin who asked if there would be a patch to fix all the infinites and bugs found in UMVC3 thus far. Niitsuma responded simply by saying that a patch would be coming before the year is over.

VINO200x wondered if the game would have a lifespan comparable to Street Fighter IV, with multiple iterations past Ultimate. Niitsuma said this would not be the case. There are no plans to release any version of MVC3 past ultimate at this time.

However, for those of you hoping for balance patches, you might not want to hold your breath. When he was asked about what would be done about overpowered characters like Wesker, he responded that it’s a difficult problem, but they are already working on many things for the upcoming patch and it’s hard enough to get it out by the end of the year as it is. Of course, he didn’t outright come out and deny that there would be balance fixes, but I have the sneaking suspicion that Wesker will be removing his shades for some time.

            Im not a fan either. I LOVED that SF4 had 2 button grabs, made it more intentional. I understand why they did it though. Because of the Atk+ S moves and the fact that Atk+Atk = Hyper Combo.

      Personally I do not feel that is a problem; it could just be my experience, but I haven’t run into anyone abusing throw teching at all. Throwing is pretty easy, so if they make it harder to tech you’ll be here again complaining of getting thrown. In my humble opinion there is more important shit that needs fixing.

        It’s not abusing anything, read what I wrote.

        YOU CAN TECH THROWS AT ANY GIVEN TIME.

        That means ANy given time you are being thrown you can tech it. Every time you should be punishing Dante for teleporting mindlessly, Nemesis for doing random rush super, or god damn anything using throw as a punish they can just right out of it.

        Then you end up with instances where both of you are mashing a direction and HP and stuck in the same spot for like 3 seconds.

        It needs to go.

      Agreed. I actually really don’t want them to fix the reverse world/z-axis glitch. There is a lot of fun things I’ve been doing with it, and while incredibly easy to do, and the very real possibility of it happening in a match means that it will be fixed, I wish it wouldn’t. And I agree, the any time throw teching is dumb, and if I had to give in to a balance change, it would be, just make it a little harder for wesker to remove his shades. Random Phantom Dance makes it far too easy. Force them to land a taunt, or hell, make it only his broken shades that buff him, so the person can’t get the buff whenever they want.

    “Level 4″ Wesker does less damage than Vanilla Level 3 Wesker, can’t combo off the gun, can’t juggle from full screen with gun repeatedly, and has an inferior counter hyper. Wesker isn’t broken, he’s just really damn good. That doesn’t mean he needs a patch.

Nerfing and buffing characters in Capcom’s fighting games is ridiculous because it is done so fast…which undermine the fun of figuring out stuff.

        When 3rd strike first came out Makoto wasn’t even considered top tier….but now, years later, Makoto is considered top tier or probably S tier. Games, especially fighting games, needs time to mature and there is no way ALL OF characters will be top tier. They will always be characters that are cheap and easy to pick up and other characters that requires more time to bring out their best abilities…that’s the nature of fighting games…

            If we going by Cartoon and Comic book logic then Hulk suppose to kill more than the half cast, actually the Marvel side would be most powered and characters like Ryu will die instantly. So please save that logic because it doesn’t apply here; traditionally big slow moving characters or big characters in general have reasonable HP but in Marvel’s case Sentinel is an exception.

            According to canon, ya, he should be weak, but if this game went by canon, it’d be all bad. However big characters, deserve big health. Sentinel should have never dropped below a million.

        When tournaments start abusing a character because he’s so much better than the rest. THATS A PROBLEM! They should make a game where we play who we LIKE not who is OP. And SKILL should be a factor into victory, NOT abusing the system.

          Unfortunately, I highly doubt they’ll go easy on the nerfs.  But if they do, I wonder when they’ll get the message that X-factor is the main problem…all we can do now is hope that the next top tier isn’t complained at (people should learn how to block rather than wavedash to their deaths)

            x-factor isnt a problem since the entire cast has access to it, and you save it in order to counter your opponents x-factor, so enough witht he x-factor QQ, it’s not going anywhere. The place the fucked up hard was balancing wesker (among a few other heroes, spencer, zero and doom). But everyone’s #1 complaint should be wesker, and if it’s not, then you’re using him. I use him and I still say he’s OP. His normals have STUPID priority, 0 recovery, and his damage output, speed and health are all very high. He needs a damage or health nerf, or needs more recovery on normals. Don’t respond with “learn2block nub” because he has a 1 frame command grab. Also don’t respond with “the game is still new and we need time to figure out a counter strat” because you’ve had the entire length of mvc3 to figure out how to counter Wesker and FAILED, he was OP then, he’s OP now, and he will continue to be OP until capcom fixes him. Look at the tournament picks and the winner of Evo if u need more proof.

            Here’s some advice friend….play with Wesker to learn his pros and cons and trust me you will have better understanding on how to deal with that character. 

            Fighting games will have characters like Wesker and instead of complaining, you just have to learn the match up and the best way to counter that character. 

            You and I can go on forever about this but I am still standing by my argument, which is the game doesn’t need balance changes just bug fixes.

Wesker and Tron have been the only characters that I started off playing Day 1 Vanilla and still play with to today and I promise you that when you play with a character for as long as that, the subtle weaknesses and deficiency that each character possess ALL come out and are made obvious in time. Weser is VERY good but NOT broken by any means.

            Precisely…personally I am not the type of player to pick said character because the community says it is the best. I play with Strider, Dante, Iron man, Iron Fist, Hawk Eye, Hulk, and Wolverine…I just love those characters because of their design and their flexible. Never have I play with Sentinel or even Phoenix…I play with characters I like playing with and the notion of nerfing a character because he or she is good is ridiculous…learn the bloody game and the characters strengths and weaknesses..

            That’s a dumb mentality. People complained about Wesker, Dante, Phoenix, Wolverine, Akuma in the last game. And they all got nerfed except Wesker. People are complaining about Wesker now… ONE character. This game is actually so much more balanced than Vanilla but Wesker his still unbalanced. It’s one of the reasons why there’s a sequel in this game. It wasn’t just about new characters it was about fixing shit. It’s not like there’s a list of broken shit… it’s one character that is overplayed and overused for a reason. 23 out of the top 25 teams at NEC had Wesker on their team. He has no glaring weaknesses, that’s the issue here. Every other character does.

            The Sentinel patch was actually a good thing for the game. You know a patch works when the character is still effective in the right hands but is not a necessity on every team because his skills far outway the others.

            I picked up wesker a few days ago in an effort to learn how to beat him. I think there should be a slight damage reduction to his combos, you should have to at least do two combos to kill a character :) The funny part is how many games I won online because they were afraid of Wesker. Once they realized I didn’t know how to play him they would rush in and I would tag in Arthur or Akuma and clean them up.

          The problem is if they were to nerf Wesker whoever is below him would immediately take over his tier spot and the bitching would continue with this new character. The process would never end. I hate to use Call of Duty as an example but a good example would be black ops. In that game all the garbage perks that broke the game and which everyone complained about in MW 2 were taken out. What happened then? People started bitching about things like Ghost and Second Chance. Both those perks were in the game since I believe COD 4 but it wasn’t until they took out the top stuff that people moved their bitching to those perks which they seemed fine with in the past. People will never be happy and will always complain.

            Strider level 3 in level 3 x-factor, and Wesker glasses off in level 3 x-factor teamed up to take phoenix’ spot. Virgil took Wolverine’s spot with the exact same teleport into powerup super, and replacing dive kick with long range normals. The more you know…

            I don’t think if Wesker got taken down just a notch, so he’s still good, but not broken, anyone would complain anymore. There is literally nothing to complain about in this game, in terms of too strong characters, except Wesker. If they fixed him, the game would be near perfect.

But it seems from your replies, you feel there should be no such thing as top tier characters, and that just doesn’t work.  Spencer, zero, and Doom for some strange reason all got buffs.  The reason is Capcom wants them to be top  tier is all I can really think of because honestly those characters were fine and were already pretty good.  You’re suggestion to nerf top tier characters is kind of ridiculous because then there would be someone just like you to cry about nerfing the new top tier characters that results from this.  Nerf characters that are ridiculous, not characters that are top tier.

            BlOps was a pile of trash because they DIDN’T take out the garbage that ruined MW2, like the new killstreaks. Care Package was the worst decision ever made, as it turned 3 kills into a game of roulette. If they just stuck with the 3/5/7 deal, CoD could’ve actually taken on a competitive scene after CoD4.

            MW3 is THE pile of trash. It’s a shame what happened to the series, CoD2 and CoD4 are two of the best FPSes ever made -_-

        Sentinels health should have never been nerfed. And while I don’t think Wesker needs a nerf, I do think they should make it a little harder to remove his shades. Or make it so he only gets a buff from broken shades. Which means he has to get beat up on first.

People know the character, people know how to fight him, Sentinel was brand new, and nobody gave learning strategy a chance with him. We know what Wesker is capable of, and we know how to counter it. The problem is that knowing this, doesn’t mean shit when his teleports become safe, and he moves so fast you feel like your brain can’t keep up with him.

      1-Who cares about the inferior counter hyper? Yes, it’s a tool, but I’ll be damned if that had any more than a minor impact on his game in vanilla and in ultimate.

      2-Just about every previous character in the game (without taking assists into account) does less damage now. Unfair to allocate this to just him.

      3-Doesn’t really matter that he can’t infinite gun in x-factor anymore when a basic magic series to maximum wesker will probably kill you. With his speed boost in x-factor, it’s pretty easy for him to get in.

      4-Yes, he cannot combo off the gun flat anymore. This was a good nerf…and probably the only good nerf he got.

      He was flat-out not properly balanced. 23 teams used in top 16 (i think this was the number reported on the stream?) featured Wesker. Now, of course, after 10 years of seeing very few teams of mvc2, this would normally not be a big issue. But, x-factor Wesker of UMVC3 is boring, braindead, and unbalanced. I fell asleep at my computer numerous times throughout the top 16 because of Wesker. He is a problem that should be fixed, for the health of the game.

        Um… not being able to counter another persona physcial attack or super instantaneously is a HUGE setback from that in Vanilla. To this day I still find it hard to resist doing so in retalitation to an attack and then realizing all too late that my super is going to be stuffed because of the 5 frame startup. This was a MAJOR asset to his arsenal in Vanilla and it help escape a lot of bad situations and random supers from opponent which now must be just dealt with head on.

        Um without the use of X-Factor, A powerful, multi-hitting DHC, or a TAC mid combo, a simple magic series attack will NOT I repear NOT kill ANY character in this game on it’s own. Which means that he will have to go for a reset at some point in order for the prospect of killing you being a possibility. That means that you have to mess up at least twice per character before you’re done. This is not Wesker’s fault if you can’t block or properly space; it is yours.

        Granted with X-Factor, Wesker is more than a force to be reckoned with. WIth that there is no doubt, but even the mighty Wesker himself can be lamed out just as much as the next guy; ESPECIALLY with flying character who inhabit the range of the field that Wesker is at his weakest.

        I will agree that this nerf was… understandable. Full Screen hit confirms into combos were a tad bit over exemplified and easy to perform in retrospect so with this I have so qualms.

          Still don’t believe the change to his counter super was that big of a deal. I think that, if you apply some more nerfs to his overall gameplay (good ones), THEN this nerf may come into light quite a bit more.

      The damage isn’t the problem, it’s the speed/mixups which mean you get opened up more often and therefore have a higher chance of losing.
      But Wesker was always supposed to be a mixup character, since Vanilla.
      Supposing they nerf Wesker, people will then Bitch about the new top tier mixup character be it Strider, Vergil or Dante.
      If people were better with Strider, he would be more of a threat than Wesker; IMO.

      Agreed. Capcom should not go overboard about this, people just need to get more experience with ultimate and learn how to deal with Wesker. The game hasn’t even been out a month yet. This is day 1 Sentinel all over again, then Capcom went way too far in nerfing him, and I’d rather not see them make the same mistake with Wesker. Although, I’d be perfectly fine with them removing the glasses mechanic, which I think was unnecessary in the first place.

      more chars. need to be able to get around spamming…it’s pretty dumb one can just choose missiles and whirlwind and spam their little hearts out with Hawkeye….few chars can get around that….like..give wolverine his invincibility back but only from projectiles…sounds reasonable ( i dont play him but as an example)…can still jab him out of everything…and only has few invincibility frames from projectiles…like the Dante nerf…still has invincibility Hammer…just not at startup

    Its not so much Wesker being a “problem” as much as it is Wesker single handedly undermining the skill taken to win the game, in a manner similar to Phoenix in the original. There was tech to deal with Phoenix, but she was used as a win condition character, which is what they’re doing with Wesker. “Level 4″ Wesker killing an entire character with a magic series shouldn’t be okay because why WOULDN’T you use that? There’s no reason not to as its far better than just about anything else.

    Why are so many people hating on the idea of a Wesker patch? He’s obviously too powerful. Maybe not completely broken, but he’s way to strong to leave the way he is. He’s a teleport rushdown character. There is absolutely no reason for him to have a dash that covers nearly 1/4 of the screen and a c.L that comes out so fast, such that he can punish almost anything on reaction with a full combo with even more ease than the derp combo itself.

    “It’s too early! We haven’t let the game evolve enough!”

    Most everyone will agree that Wesker was still really strong in Vanilla, and that he needed a nerf coming into Ultimate. Most everyone will also agree that Wesker was buffed (more than nerfed) in the transfer from Vanilla to ultimate.

    Do the math. If that doesn’t work for you, then just looks at all the tournament results of late.

      MODOK does not need a damage buff. I believe this 850, CUBELESS METERLESS combo speaks for itself. Just because no one uses him doesn’t mean he needs a buff. He’s top tier IMHO, just no one uses him. If anything Iron man needs improved dash speed, and increased fly mode duration by 2 seconds. His air dash is interesting, it builds momentum and he even slides because of it, but it’s way too slow to be threatening.

        I’m more in the boat where I’m really fucking tired of people screaming about balance when 1. it doesn’t pertain to them, as they’re not going to tournaments, they just want their rank to get high and pretty with their shitty characters or 2. The game’s been out for a fucking month. There’s plenty of characters that haven’t been explored that have the potential to really change the overall way the game is played. People in general are still playing this game like Vanilla, but in a few months, that could very well change. We haven’t seen anti Wesker tactics develop yet.

          I understand what happened to sentinel in vanilla was stupid. But the games core was being dissected. People have a good grip how this game works since vanilla. Besides wesker was top tier then & if anything hes better now. So im pretty sure 9 months or so is enough time to understand wesker. Also results speak louder than opinions. He can take a few nerfs, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think he’s as viable as people think to nerf him to death.       I doubt Capcom will do that though. They have a tendency to under-nerf good characters. I suppose a conservative approach is safer.

    I’m sorry but the whole rage over Wesker in my honest opinion is just out of this world. Yes we ALL can agree that Wesker is a VERY adept character with many tools for destruction. This is obvious. But people are really over rating his ability to kill without X-factor. 

    Wesker CANNOT I repeat CANNOT kill ANY character off EVEN WITH ASSISTS without the use of either X-Factor, a Multi-hitting DHC, or a TAC. Point Blank. That means that to have wesker kill your character, you must make a minimum of 2 mistakes before death is a probability. That’s 2 times for you to lay off the stick and hold back. 

    Granted Wesker is a swiss–army knife in terms of options for opening an opponent but again without X-Factor, mostly all of his moves are more then telegraphed. There are OBVIOUS distinct pauses before any teleport he does as well as after he reappears so being ready to retaliate against them is definitely not that hard especially when he can’t keep hit safe through a pre-shot fire from his gun or any other means besides an assist. 

    His command grab is EXTREMELY fast so it is to be feared but again it’s range is horrible and unless he has assists backing him up or the speed boost of X-Factor, he should not be able to simple dash up and grip you for blocking.

    Wesker’s anti-air mobility and fighting capability is EXTREMELY limited and anything the opponent does over normal jump height cannot be air looped meaning anyone who flies or has great air mobility already has a jump on him because all they really have to worry about are aerial grabs as stray hit from him would not be able to be converted into a full combo by him and could only be effective if ended in a super. Magneto, Storm, Iron Man, Firebrand, and Trish are all examples of characters that can easily give Wesker a good run for his money being a primarily ground based character.

    I think that the biggest issues people are having problems with are his pretty decent health, good mobility options, good damage, and primarily good offensive options that he has; ALL THINGS PEOPLE WOULD WANT EVERY CHARACTER TO HAVE. Unfortunately, some people got more of these tools then others, Wesker being one of them.

    All in all Wesker is indeed a very good character but at the same time he is not a god (although he thinks he is) that is undefeatable. He has match-ups that aren’t always to his liking and can be lamed out by many combinations of teams (Dormammu/Haggar/Doom being one that I witnessed recently). So let’s stop with the whining for nerfs and start begging for the buffs for everyone else that deserved the same love and treatment Wesker got. EVERYONE should be on the same level Wesker is and there is no reason that it’s not the way it is.

    The thing that makes people upset is his teleports. Usually in the RE games his teleports are a counter to an attack. Making it a free command was a lil too much. NightCrawler can do it at will.
    And the glasses increase was just a…WTF decision.

    There’s a reason why people jokingly calls Lv3 Wesker “Dark Wesker”. There’s also a reason people are snapping Wesker in during the top8 match, something people never do unless they play against Phoenix.

    Try to defend him all you want, but he’s clearly a big enough problem that people need to start snapping him in. People didn’t do that to Wolverine or Akuma in vanilla.

        He’s not overly broke like some characters were in Vanilla but he definitely needs a nerf here and there. Right now he’s just too damn good.

        I mean godforbid you’re gona nerf the underused characters or assist characters, but barely touch Wesker besides the gun shot nerf?

Which is why we’ll probably see Snapbacks used more, they’re worth more now.

      Who knows how the game will develop? Capcom wanted to promote a lame style, and they certainly have.. and oddly enough, that’s exactly what beats Wesker. Playing lame. Not giving him anything.

I’m sorry but if anyone has seriously actually played the game (and not observed from just Tournement winning teams) he’s the best damn safest character in lvl 4 x factor. Sure he’s killable but is it easy when 90% of his moves are uber safe and has the BEST OTG in the game? Not really. He doesn’t need a nerf, no, he DESERVES a nerf. Heck, just give him Phoenix’s life and anyone would think twice about keeping Wesker. Otherwise, the patch should just bring Phoenix to the way she was in Vanilla and there ya go, 1 cheap character became 2! Yay! Or even better so everyone can be happy, put in Megaman X and buff everyone up to be as abusive as Wesker and Vanilla D. Phoenix. Yay!

       I don’t think the problem is with Wesker but with x factor. In theory it is a good come from behind mechancic but there are just some character combos that really exploit the strengths of x factor. Wesker benefits from x factor lvl 3 considerably more than someone like Tron Bonne. That’s what they need  to fix or take out x factor all together.

    The main problem, is that you die faster in UMVC3 than in MVC3, therefore the strongest mixup character is the top tier character. Wesker himself is not the problem. If he gets nerfed, the next mixup character on the tier list will be wthe new problem.

    Fix Wesker, not cripple him.
    Remove hard knockdown on Doom’s Foot Dive.
    Leave Dante alone, the pushback nerf, and beehive damage nerfs were enough to begin with.
    Buff Morrigan’s damage SLIGHTLY, increase her hitstun threshold SLIGHTLY. Her BnBs barely scratch 550K.
    Strider is meh, his damage output is REALLY low. I never use Legion because it’s not worth the 90-120K, reduce his damage in X-factor there’s no reason Ouroboros should EVER be that powerful in level 2-3 X-factor.
    Armor attacks should be ONE point, just like in MVC2. Not 3, not 4.
    IRON FIST ‘S CHI PARRY NEEDS A BUFF. LIKE REAL BAD. It’s one point, and PUNISHABLE on hit confirms. The window of armor is very very small. So it’s not overpowered, but not valuable after testing.
    Iron Man, needs an air dash speed increase, and a fly mode duration increase by about 2 seconds.
    Hsien-Ko could use more jump cancels, and better recovery on the gong. Probably limit the amount of gongs on screen, so she can do some real work with the gong.

    If they were to do a balance patch, I’d just like to see some of the other characters brought up a bit. That and remove the fucking free x factor wesker gets for getting beat up / doing a random super.

    Strider really should have more health / do more damage. There’s no reason Vergil can do practically the same things with a better teleport and 3x the damage, with more health, while Strider is capping out at 4-500k regularly for combos and dying in one hit from practically anyone.

    Give hsien ko a regular wave dash and speed up her air dash. Let her combo off air throw.

      people complain about hsien ko like she’s completly unplayable. Iv had her as part of my main team since vanilla. and yeah, she is alot of work and doesnt have all the same tools as other characters. but thats just it, she isn’t the other characters. at least gold armor arthur lance doesnt rip right through her gong wave anymore.
      as for you wanting her being able to combo off of air throw, just give her hard knock down after an airthrow so you can at least have enough time to get a good set up or hit them with a hyper.

      and her having a normal wavedash would kill all of the my current set ups with her.
      she has a teleport. people just dont know how to utilize it properly

    i Hope they tweak Novas hyper, like instead of using your red health in his hypers make it the players option to use it or not for ex. when you trigger your hyper press S to use up you red health or not just to do regular damage

    I think that sometimes it is the case that people ask for a nerf to soon, but one of the complaints about Wesker from the last game was that he had to much health; everyone else that was top tier like him (Magneto, Zero, and Phoenix; only exception was Sentinel before the patch) had low health, and what do they do? Nothing from the looks of it.

    Weskers health is so good not even Wesker can chip out Wesker; this was illustrated numerous times yesterday on Spooky’s stream when I saw a Wesker who had nothing but red life left totally withstand a super from another Wesker, I mean what the fuck?

    This is especially unfair considering that some characters like Strider, or R.Raccoon can be killed in one combo. The only thing bothers me about Wesker is his unbelievable health, and the fact that he can x-factor while he x-factors, outside of that I don’t give a shit.

        Even so dude, that doesn’t change the fact that Wesker is waaay more mobile than Ryu, has very good damage output (probably among the best in the game), and  basically has better options still despite all that Ryu has received in Ultimate. Put that and WESKERS UNBELIEVABLE HEALTH together, and you begin to see why almost EVERY top player is using him.

    Guys! I’ve got some awesome Anti-Wesker technology. It is pretty fool-proof and it counters all his cheap tactics. Here’s How: 

    1. Complain and whine to Capcom about how OP Wesker is. 
    2. Wait for Capcom to release a patch. 
    3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until Wesker is beatable.

      Casual people don’t like having to pick a character to win.  OP is OP no matter what you do to his moves.  All I say is make his health below a mil, like 950.  Just like pre-patch Sentinel, I believe you shouldn’t have high health and massive damage unless you’re a grapple character like Thor.  That is my opinion of course on that issue, but Wesker has the health, damage, movement, and teleport.   So there is a lot he can do for very little effort. I don’t see a problem for this patch.

    None of this would have happened if Capcom just got some damn pro MVC3 players to give their input during the making of the game. Obviously they would be biased towards their own characters but maybe this game wouldn’t be so completely fucked up. And as for the Wesker bitching, I don’t understand, YES he’s a good character, yes he doesn’t take much execution to be effective, yes his damage is high, so what? He’s the badass of the RE universe, he’s supposed to be powerful. The only things I would change about him would be to very slightly nerf his health and damage, and take away the whole glasses thing, and if they didn’t do any of that, I still wouldn’t care. It’s the same reason why people hate Dictator in SFIV, fighting gamers are never happy with characters they perceive as easy to play, every character has to be difficult to use or they’re ‘cheap’ and ‘scrubby’. Just work hard to beat him instead of bitching about him.

    Reading these comments made me smile. Looks like we got a Metaknight fiasco on our hands, except the Smash community accepted that their games won’t be patched, unlike the new-age 2D community who whines about nerfs all day. Isn’t it grand?

    Personally i have more problems dealing with insane Maggy mixups then Wesker and his apparant OP everything, No doubt he’s maad hench but, most of the time, even againt the demonic Wesker wielders i face online, my doom/spencer normally doesn’t have much trouble closing him off and dealing with his speed n movement. On the other hand, he is quite a demon with good assists… i just don’t have this same issue as everyone else. As far as i know, easy-to-do tools in the shitloads or not, a character is only as good as the person on the pad and if you are getting scrubbed out by people using him, maybe you should look at your own game… and sharpened it up.

      Maggy is hard to deal with but at least his health is low. It takes alot of work with characters like Morrigan to kill off Wesker. She also has to be careful not to get hit at all by Wesker or she is dead. Wesker players can afford to be sloppy because of his high health.

    I might not be good enough to complain or post comments but I play wesker and play against wesker. I get owned constantly by people who know what they are doing and not to let me get close. As soon as I get push-blocked i usually get punished for trying to get in close with wesker. I don’ t think he needs a damage nerf, but more a of a health nerf. I don’t understand why he has so much health, it’d make more sense for his damage to be high and for him to have low HP cause I think of him like Akuma. Some other characters need buffs though….     May as well join in the Wesker fest.

    The problem I have with him is the fact that he is way overplayed. Yes he is a very easy pick up and play character but hes too strong for that fact. Like C. Viper who CAN be the strongest character in the game but shes so difficult to learn but is worth it. Wesker is easy to learn and hes extremely powerful so theres no point to learning a character like Viper when you can just take the easy route. He has too much pay off for little work and holds your teams hand. Because of this we see a ton of people use him because its so simple and hes so powerful and a lot of people feel that if you are not using him then you will not win often as without. Most players will say learn his weaknesses but he has no certain weakness like say Pheonix had.

    So IMO make him more difficult to use or nerf him. Far to accessible for a character whos so strong and has access too many ability’s.

      gun shots should all be command moves. Teleport after gunshot should also be another command input and not just a simple press of H. OTG Gun shot should be something like DP + Sp+Atk so it will be more like the execution of C Viper’s Otg

    To be honest Wesker is only awesome in x-factor level 3 other wise he is just a slightly above average character.. People talking about Wesker’s damage need to grow up, and take a look at other peoples damage, and compare it to Wesker’s. And when you do you’ll realize he does about 25-30% less damage than most of the cast. He also struggles against alot of the small characters like Zero, and characters that control the air like Morrigan, and trish, his range is only subpar at best. Yes I realize he has a teleport, but it isn’t just the greatest thing ever, unless he is in x-factor lvl 3. You can easily react to normal Wesker’s teleports. If you can’t well thats your own shortcomings.

    Don’t shout nerf Wesker, shout nerf x-factor. It’s the only reason anyone is saying anything about Wesker. If Wesker is nerfed then you will just have to deal with x-factor lvl 3 Strider with Ouroboros, or people will go back to Phoenix, or Akuma, or some other character who is god like as an Anchor and you will be crying nerf then too. Please stop trying to nerf characters, and try to nerf the true problem that makes the game slightly less balanced. Which is X-factor. Wesker isn’t the only one who can go abc super and kill a whole team by himself in x-factor, he just has the easiest time about it.

      I usually just spam Wesker with Trish by laying ground traps and taking to the air with more traps and projectiles and dive kicks…I get a lot of hate mail afterwards

    Overall, Wesker was nerfed from Vanilla. The loss of full screen combos from AA gun->Teleport is beyond huge. 

    However, Capcom nerfed most of his counter characters (PHX, Mag, Dante) and people jumped ship from some of the others (Ammy, Zero). 
    Wesker still has a hard time with lame characters w/ beam assists on point. That’s why you see him last, where he doesn’t have to deal w/ that shit.

    I see no reason for Sentinel’s health nerf in vanilla since Sentinel’s hurtbox is so big. Anyone could do an instant overhead on him.
