Word on the street is that Planet Zero screwed over Hsien Chang and Banana Ken.

No it’s not and no they didn’t.

Well someone did, there was an error and SBO let one too many teams qualify, meaning Hsien/Banana had to re-qualify for their place in the tournament in a game with the Kuwaiti team, which they lost – meaning the whole journey was basically for nothing. At least they’re staying for the Kumite…

Yes it is and yes, there is a chance they did.

Daigo gets exposed 50 times in a row.

Exactly! This morning I woke up, got out of bed and wondered while looking in the mirror brushing my teeth ‘what’s the point of this? What is the point of you, toothbrush? What’s the point of you, running water?’ Then I looked up and faced myself and said ‘Whats the point of you, big guy?’ The big guy looked back at me and thought ‘I don’t know, but you really should be careful brushing your teeth. You might make stains’

      And so it was

I say Mike Ross and Filipino Champ change the date on their tickets and stay at the hotel another night! (If that’s even possible with international flights)

    • Anonymous

Do you know how expensive that would be?  You would basically would pay
MORE than normal.  And if your seats aren’t confirmed, you’ll wait on
standby, sit around and wait for someone to not show up, jostle for
their seat against others, and this is for an international flight,
you’ll be waiting at the airport ALL EFFING DAY.  I work at the airport
and see this happen to international customers all of the time.
Hopefully JAL or the company they’re flying on wouldn’t extravagantly
      oversell their tickets like AA.

Hmmm. Nice how the date isn’t informed under “Schedule and information”.

Daigo should do a 100 man kumite and not a 50 man one, Shokei Matsui  would not be pleased

Those guys are either losing to Diago on purpose as some stupid stunt or they truly suck. Probably boosted to get those ranks.

guess i tuned in at the last second.last match was like vs. number 2 Yun? Daigo barely won that. wish i saw the other 50 matches.

    • Chicken Chicken

That Yun was Kazunoko (half of the team that placed #1 at SBO). Nemo was also there with his Yang (half of the team that placed #2 at SBO and knocked out Daigo’s team).

As for the Kumite, Daigo lost once and that was to iPeru. (So 49-1, but I believe 1 person didn’t want/was not present to play)

They had the Exhibition after which was best out of 5. Banana Ken went 0-3, iPeru 1-3, Hsien Chang 0-3. Romero was not there, but they had Nemo and Kazunoko instead. Nemo went 0-3 and Kazunoko went 2-3. Last round was match point for both players, pretty intense – but the Taito stream ruined it.

In the end, Daigo took out half of #1 and #2 at SBO. Single elimination is ridiculous IMO. Nemo got bodied like the Americans/those that participated in the Kumite lol.

      • Anonymous

FYI: Banana Ken and Nemo went 1-3 against Daigo, not 0-3.

  • Seph Irosuy

The last match was Umehara 3-2 Kazunoko, from what I saw only Kazunoko able to win more than 1 match. I didn’t watch his early matches

  • dub bud

Not sure how the actual stream was but the recordings are nigh-on unwatchable. :[

Daigo is still a freaking beast. He exposed that random one trick pony, poongko, and was on a roll for the kumite. RESPECT!

    • Anonymous

Are you kidding?  Did you even watch their 10 game match?  Yes, Daigo won the majority of them, but I wouldn’t say he exposed Poongko, nor is Poongko a “one trick pony”.  Dood, it’s ppl like you that blow $#*+ way out of proportion.  Daigo is still the best in my opinion, but Poongko is legit as well.  I think it was like 4-6 in Daigo’s favor.

        10-5 IIRC

Okay, say it was 10-5, which doesn’t even make sense as that would be a 15 game match, but either way, someone who can beat daigo 5 times is not a “one trick pony”.  Beating him once, okay.  Getting one perfect round, okay.  But he beat him at least 5 times, and had multiple perfect rounds.  If anything, it’s exposing Daigo’s weaknesses more than anything.

          • Anonymous

It was a first-to-10. It could have been anywhere between 10 to 19 matches.

          • http://twitter.com/jcgonzmo Juan Carlos Gonzalez

also, you are not considering that Poongko uses Seth and Daigo uses the most overpowered character in the game!

Even if he didn’t expose him then, after evo daigo bodied him 22-8.

I missed the stream. Which characters did Daigo use?

    • Anonymous

Ryu & Yun from what I saw.

I know some people who waste more time doing something stupidly pointless and even fewer people who would waste time watching someone do something stupidly pointless but that Diego guy needs better competition.
