HD Fighting Game Based on Persona 4 Announced

Newly announced today is Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka, an HD fighter based on the Persona 4 game, characters, and story. The BlazBlue team at Arc System Works is handling this project, with direct involvement from the Persona team. The game is due for release in arcades (in Japan, obviously) in Spring of 2012, with Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions to follow.

This is the very first announcement dude, they haven’t even announced all the playable characters. The andriasang link does mention that the game will have characters from both 3 and 4 though yes.

I always loved the Persona character designs. I never though we would see anything like this, but it’s fitting the game is under development from ASW. The screen shots look great from what I can make out. If they manage to make a great engine this game will no doubt be a day one buy for me.

This is one of those things I didn’t even know I wanted. Now that I know it’s coming, I cannot control the hype. Screenshots look cool, hopefully we’ll see more soon.

ALRIGHT, WHAT A GREAT TIME FOR FIGHTIN GAEMS. I’m sure this won’t be another mediocre GG/Blaz/Melty-based fighter with Persona sprites painted over it.

Sadly, the coolest character in this game is a closet fag (and no, I don’t mean the one voiced by Bosch. For once Bosch doesn’t voice a complete homo). Hey, has anyone called dibs on that 14 year old Japanese schoolgirl or whatever with the pole-dancer Persona and the strip club TV world? I think her fighting style would fit perfectly for me, and by “her style” I mean I’m selecting her with no other basis than my infatuation.
