G4 Interviews 8-Year-Old Noah the Prodigy

During EVO 2011, G4TV’s Ernie Moreno caught up with 8-Year-Old Noah to ask him how he got his start. On top of that, he asked a number of notable fighting game community members how they feel about Noah’s showing in Las Vegas. Spoilers; everyone is impressed.

  • Dingo Cheetobrows

Congrats to Noah. Can’t wait to see his next performance, and see if he can continue his consistency.

  • Havocaveli

He is so cute ! :)

  • AdamNW

    Noah is my idol.

  • DarklingSinx

    Nice ^_^
    Noah the karate kid :)

  • Orions

I hate to be a dick but the kid was honestly not that good. Sure he was 8, but still. Anyone with a week or two under their belt could probably do the same stuff.

The only reason he got so far is because people either underestimated him or were bad themselves. Remember, EVO is open to everyone. Even Joe Bloe the SRK masher, so it’s not surprising he could be matched up with idiots.

    • Warpticon

Here’s the thing: you’re clarifying something that doesn’t need clarification. Nobody has made the argument that he’s an amazing player. The fact of the matter is that he is way, way better than anyone could reasonably expect an 8-year-old to be. Although somewhat simplistic, he has actually managed to build a team, develop a strategy, and implement it effectively in actual matches. A lot of older players with access to a lot more information and competition struggle at doing those things.

      • Spectaa

        Thanks.

      • NOTMOrninstar

“Nobody has made the argument that he’s an amazing player.”

“G4 Interviews 8-Year-Old Noah the Prodigy”

What is the definition of Prodigy? – A person, especially a child or young person, having extraordinary talent or ability.

Im not saying people dont have the right to their own opinion, but this kid about average for what you might see for a typical match online. Hulk, Sent, Wesker. The kid is not special and hes not impessive. He’s 8 and playing a game made for 8 year olds. Keep it moving nobody cares.

        • Blankanieves

That wasn’t an argument that he was an amazing player. He goes by Noah the Prodigy, G4 didn’t add that name.

        • TrollThisSRK

Hey, remember that time you didn’t get top 48 in the world finals of anything, ever?

          • Beebo

Hey, remember that not everyone has the time or money to travel to las vegas for tournament? Especially if you know you can’t beat the very best you won’t travel accros continents just to get top 48.

Noah is average and he should not be called a prodigy nor should he get this much press just because he is 8 years old. It’s as if everyone here was retarded when they were 8 years old. I know that most people I know had a SNES or Genisis back in that time and beat games that are much MUCH harder then mashing H with Hulk.

          • TrollThisSRK

Maybe if you can’t make it out of your mom’s basement once in awhile to get to some tournaments you should just stfu and stop hating on an 8 year old because you’re JEALOUS OF AN 8 YEAR OLD?

Your time is too precious to attend an event, yet you’ve got lots of time to post on SRK? HMMMM I see.

By saying ‘all he did was mash H’ you’re just making yourself look clueless. “All Daigo did was mash uppercut! All justin did was mash messiah kick! All PR ROG did was mash lvl 3 grab! All Vicant did was mash phoenix on the char select screen!” You’re so terrible at this game you don’t even realize what you’re watching.

You fail, hard, and I pity you.

          • alvare

“All Vicant did was mash phoenix on the char select screen!”” < This is how the Bible should start.

        • Raging StormX

“Noah the Prodigy” is just his name… and its a character from Yu-Gi-Oh. Hating on this kid is lower than pathetic. He is 8 and made top 48 at EVO…..who else here hating on him has done as much when they were 8? Thats right….none of you dusty ass gamers, so STFU and GTFO with that noise. Congrats lil man…keep at it, these spivs will be singing your praises one day.

          • Riot Guard

Forget that he’s 8 years old for a minute and just think of the play. Imagine someone like Chris G or any other good player playing like that and then getting interviewed, put on the front page, everything they land gets a shouting ovation. You know who should be getting interviewed is his opponents that made it that far and couldn’t block a super armored H.Attack done over and over again.

      • GuyWithNoHat

“Nobody has made the argument that he’s an amazing player.” He got a trophy and the nickname prodigy….However, this is all bull. Getting a trophy for participating is something most people are ashamed of and next year he might get eliminated by someone in the pools and there goes tehe nickname prodigy. see if an 8 year old wouldve been able to do amazing things and had godlike tactics instead of fishing with hulk and sent for hits, then yeah, hed deserve a price and hed deserve that nickname but right now some people are milking that poor kid like a cow just for pr reasons.

      • Mr.Chang

Good for him to mash H harder.

    • Shadow2bolt

Dude he got top 48, that is well out of his pools and everything. So if this guy isn’t that good, then you are saying he got lucky the whole way? He beat one of the best TVC players, Royal Flush and quite a few others and they sure didn’t look like they were going to let him win.

His age compared to the amount of time playing fighting games and getting his execution consistent, learning combos, etc is very good. He sticks to more basic combos or simpler ones (which is why he TACs upwards a lot) but the mindset on outwitting the opponent is definitely worth noting especially since he can’t have been playing fighting games for that long.

      • NOTMOrninstar

“execution” with Hulk Sent Wesker? hahahahaha.. riiight.

        • Vaptor

use hulk sent wesker, and we’ll see how you perform at evo 2012.

    • TrollThisSRK

Hey remember that time you didn’t get top 48 in the world finals of anything, ever?

      • Beebo

Hey, remember that not everyone has the time or money to travel to las vegas for tournament? Especially if you know you can’t beat the very best you won’t travel accros continents just to get top 48.

        • Zmoney2006

No disrespect but your terms for reasoning going through extensive effort to make it to a major gaming event are kind of personal reasons specific to you. Not everyone that travels to these events go with the intention of beating everyone else competing and I am sure Noah was one of them. I personally would and have put in extensive efforts to make to tourneys (last one I went was Revelations) and I knew full well that I wasn’t going to be able to take on everyone else that I met there. I did it for the experience and the enjoyment of being surrounded by people just like me.

So using that as an excuse really doesn’t cut it on its own. Just saying.

          • Zmoney2006

            Sorry meant expectation not intention

        • TrollThisSRK

Your time is too precious to attend an event, yet you’ve got lots of time to post on SRK? HMMMM I see.

Jealous of an 8 year old? Pathetic.

  • chickenbutt

That didn’t feel like an interview with him at all. It was more like interview with other people about what they thought about him.

  • cbashchin

Lol , cute kid! I don’t understand the hate. He is obviously good, he can say he is the top 48 in the country right now at 8! Stop making excuses why he is famous at mvc3 and your not. If you want to get your rep up, go to his elementary bring a camera and challenge him, or go to EVO next year and do better than him, if not then stop being a hater. I liked how he didn’t know who was a legend and who wasn’t. Kinda an advantage to go up against someone without being psyched out by their name and rep.

  • sixtymhz

Congrats Capcom. You made a game where eight years olds can beast. Can’t wait for UMC3. Hope it brings out the six year olds. nopedo.

    • boogityboy

Too bad he beasts in Street Fighter as well. I believe the door is that way jackass.

      • GuyWithNoHat

Lol you are the jackass that should be shown the door you big mouthed fool. he does fullscreen random slides with bison and headstomps if that doesnt work. if thats beasting to you then leave srk right now, i believe the door is that way jackass.

        • tali

when i was 8 a fire haduken in street fighter alpha 3 was an amazing feat for me…..

  • ziggybgw

I believe this is the perfect time to say…

    Haters gone hate.

    • abandonist

      More like Channers gonna chan…

      • owned2dabone

        “chan” is a verb?

        • Revek

ironic since channers are the people who always use “fail” as if it were an adjective

    • redmetal

really? i thought it was the perfect time to stop using overused phrases….

  • RoboGem II

*Insert he’s no good, all he does is mash H with Hulk comment*

  • Tecmo

    lmao

  • Spectaa

He has probably been playing marvel for half his life => 4 years.

  • King9999

I would like to see Noah dominate the scene when he’s older. Apparently he plays SF4 also (he plays Bison).

    • GalzPanic

Yeah he won some games at Revelations

  • Gorehound

    If you play against Noah.

You’re Damned if you do and you’re Dammed if you don’t!

  • haunts

mr wizard come to the command center please

  • ADMARA

He’s alot better then I was when I was 8 but peole don’t say he beat great players though lol

    • WINBACK

Games didn’t allow you to kill 2 full-life characters in one combo with minimal effort when you were 8. Give yourself some credit.

      • Nybb

Yep, I also hate games that punish me when I make mistakes. Give me back my sweet, sweet comeback mechanics that allow players like me and WINBACK to not face any consequences when we screw up.

        • ahdonye

          lol comment of the year!

  • 1iquid5nake

    s.H, S> MMH Up Exchange >MHS >Rocket Punch xx HSF XFC j.S, S, MHS

Where’s MY fucking G4 interview and trophy?

    • ahdonye

you have to have the guts to go to evo and place in the top 48, sitting in your moms basement with marvel on one monitor and porn on another only gets you a messy shirt

  • SaBrE

props to noah for doing what he did at evo. and props to his older brother that took him. Is it really suprising that an 8 year old can actually get wins off older players? this used to be the norm back in the golden era of fighters. I was winning some tourneys when I was 11 that had 100+ players. And there were some that were younger, dominating too.

what truly bothers me tho, about all the exposure he is getting, is that there are people in attendance at evo, that are freaking handicapped, using their mouth to play, or by whatever means they have in order to play. guys like broly legs, plus other players that were there, as well as others that were in attendance in 2k10 and 2k9, and earlier. these guys have to work around insane handicaps to even play agame, let alone compete, and are pretty damn good. but yet, an 8 year old gets the most insane amount of recognition. a kid, at that age, that typically plays video games a lot anyway, is it really suprising? If anything its only suprising cuz he’s the only 8 year old out of many more like him, that is even able to go to a place like evo. most 8 year olds cant even go down the street yet. hes just lucky to have a brother that does the same thing, to allow him to go out of state.

im not saying hes bad or anything. but you gotta admit. his whole game was H with hulk until it hit, launch, air combo,, then do UP aerial exchange twice then finish off with sentinel rocket punch, HSF. and once sentinel was in, he would just do more H. so he would either get the hit and get the bounce, or he would get the air throw, it all led to the same thing. even if you blocked, he would always go into rocket punch hsf. no hit confirm. Yeah he beat royalflush, yeah hes a top tvc player. but thats a game no one played, i dont even know if hes any good at mvc3, he never placed at any tourneys, or came remotely close.

Dont get me wrong, its tight that he made it to evo, and did well, and got recognition, thats sick, no doubt.. but its not suprising at all. whats suprising is the lack of acknowledgement towards the handicap players that have the courage and show up.

i think its pretty messed up. them getting big exposure might actually give other handicap players hope.. oh well

    • NOTMOrninstar

best post. close thread fuck this little kid.

      • OakAs

Internet comments, the only place where you can tell an 8 yr old to fuck off and think your a badass for doing so.

        • OakAs

Oh, and BTW, I remember SRK putting out an article on Broly, and I remember all the negative comments from posters there too. You all need to get over yourselves.

    • Reticently

      Couple of things:

First, you’re constructing a straw-man argument. If anyone else isn’t getting recognition it isn’t because an 8 year old stole all the recognition there was to go around.

Second, while I can’t speak for anyone at EVO most of the handicap people close to me wish the world would stop patronizing them by making a big deal out of it every time they do something normal for themselves. If some individual wants to put their story out there that’s fantastic, but unless you know otherwise don’t assume anyone wants special attention. Apparently after a while it can come off as dehumanizing.

    • Affliction

Why are you acting like Broly Legs NEVER got any recognition for what he’s doing?*cough, cough* gootecks… Congrats if you did win any tournaments when you were younger. We all know fighting games took a lot more skill back then but the fighting game scene has changed over the years but sorry you are older now and can’t get any recognition for when you were a young player. That’s why they are doing this now. The fact that you all say that he is bad but why didn’t anyone stop him from making top 48 or whatever place he came in?

    • TrollThisSRK

Sabre you’re retarded. Its not like exposure is in limited quantities. Its not like they can’t interview Noah AND Brolylegs. Oh wait, brolylegs totally already had a front page article.

You’d have to be retarded to not understand why he’s getting so much exposure. There a huge market in video games for really young kids. The handicapped? Eh not so much.

I’m not saying, don’t get me wrong, what truly bothers me, yea whatever, pass Sabre some salt.

  • WINBACK

    I wike turtles!

  • Ketchup

lmao so many haters. An 8 year old did better than you ever could at Evo. It’s kind of sad to be honest. Bunch of grown ass men hating on something 1/4 their age..

    • TooItchy

I couldn’t mash H with hulk then do the same combo every time? Let alone the fact that every person he played, obviously didn’t want to do their best and destroy the kid, so they played sloppy, and when they would start losing, it was too late. That happened every time until he was eliminated by an actual good player, in Chris G. Sorry, but this kid is not amazing, he is not a prodigy, not by a long shot. SabrE’s post said everything that needed to be said.

      • Ketchup

Nobody ever said he’s amazing and nice assumption that everyone saw he was 8 and decided to not go hard. This is fucking Evo, you go hard or don’t even bother going and if people didn’t go hard against him, why didn’t Broly Legs place first in every tournament? I don’t know about you but I would be more likely to let someone with a disability win instead of some 8 year old. Again, haters gonna hate. Try to discredit every win he has because you’re jelly.

        • GuyWithNoHat

he got a trophy an interview and is now called the prodigy…but no, people aint sayin hes amazing

  • SNAAAAKE

    “something”

    its a person…LOL

  • PrideAndFury

    Sigh*

  • SNAAAAKE

    and good job

  • Vargas

The kid sucks in all honesty, it’s just that Marvel can be complete bullshit sometimes with X-Factor, and with Hulk and Sent, you can get EXTREMELY lucky ( I know, I main both of them, and destroyed 2 WAY better players then me at a local tourny recently ). If he had gone against some GOOD players earlier, he would of got eliminated so quick.

  • Diernes

being good at MVC3 is a fucking oxymoron….

    • miyodarius

      LOL ^This
But I don’t see what everyones deal is with this kid is… I give him props for being only 8 and already doing great at tourneys. Stop the hate, please.

  • RoboGem II

You suck in all honesty, you come in here with your complete bullshit trolling AND your whining about X-Factor, Hulk and Sent. Maybe IF I EMPHASIZE words in all CAPITALS it will make me SEEM like I’m getting MY point ACROSS.

    • GuyWithNoHat

good thing yo udont even have a point =D

  • white shadow

lol “Winning” is the new “Sucking” oh SRK we hardly knew thee…

  • frustratedsquirrel

When players are salty, they blame the game.

  • NeoMagnus

Clarifaction for the idiots, Noah is good to be his age. I know I wasnt that good at 8. Regardless of how he was playing, it was the players against him who made the mistakes. To the hate haters he isnt being hated on the game is. Big ups to Noah, if there is any advice to this kid its dont read online comments and to keep playing and the fact he made it to evo before me(im 24). Good shit.

  • MadBater

Noah the old man killer is going to be his new nickname

  • HigherTomorrow

Noah isn’t just good for his age, he’s good. If this is a game where you can bullshit your way to win, than how come people triple his age couldn’t bullshit their way into Top 48? People are jealous as hell, quit bitching SRK.

    • NOTMOrninstar

Umm well Noah was 48 out of 48 other people that bs’d their way to top 50. Shit look who won Evo. Definatly wasnt who i expected to win at all. The only thing Noah was missing was Jean Grey… then again.. The 8 year old cant block so she wouldnt survive the snap in hahahaha.. comon fellas stop dick riding an 8 year old.

      • Erionn

        You are a fucking joke.

      • TrollThisSRK

Hey. remember that time you didn’t get top 48 in the world finals of anything, ever?

  • wetworker

I hope someone keeps track of the haters on this thread to see if any of them end up facing this kid in the next 5+ years. I’m sure all of them will get raped.

I wish I had the skills this kid have when I was eight. Keep up the good work Noah and beast on those haters.

    • Orions

I know for a fact I could beat him. I play mindless Hulk players online all the same. The answer is easy. Pushblock the s. H and punish accordingly. It’s not difficult.

      • ahdonye

then man up and play him, sissy

        • Beebo

Bring him over to europe then, I’ll destroy him :)
And pretty much everyone I know that plays Marvel would.

Anyone who says that Noah is good has to be absolutely terrible at this game or trolling.

  • AYGCSMD

Someone better call Chris Hansen. cuz there’s an awful lot of 8 year old ass kissing going on here.

  • voodazz

Wow we really got into the mind of this kid in this stellar interview. lol

  • boogityboy

So many people jealous of an 8 year old. Sorry this kid is good at some games and has a supportive dad vs yours who apparently beat you so much you’ve grown into a well-developed adu— asshole.

  • TooItchy

That kid worked that interview so well, man, WHAT A PERSONALITY HE HAS! Wow, I never knew so much about someone before. Absolutely stunning piece of media this is, great front page material. That kid said things I’ve never heard before. Did you all hear the players he mentioned when asked if he’d heard of anyone there? Suberb.

  • Cype Monster

Props to the kid for putting in work. Although, I doubt he would do that well in a game like 3s or tekken. Don’t get me wrong, I like marvel. It’s entertaining, but its marvel. It’s like the jersey shore. Shit is funny to watch and it entertains people, but it’s cheap, flashy and filled with mediocre characters with no real depth. I still like it though.

  • Thancruz

Salty keyboard warriors are salty lol.

  • Smorgasboard

    What about CJ Truth?

  • Shishioh

This child is bleeding asshole ugly.

Where the fuck people keep getting “cute” from is beyond human rationality.

    • Diernes

^^ This time’s 100.. also he isn’t fucking very good I watched all his stream matches, I bet if the crowd wasn’t so much on his side he wouldn’t have got any where near where he did.

Fuck I really need to hit evo one of these days bit hard when I live all the way on the other side of the world..

      • TrollThisSRK

I need to stop reading SRK. You just lose faith in humanity.

    • TrollThisSRK

      I wouldn’t really call any 8 year old ugly. I mean, he’s a kid.

Also, if you think this particular one is ugly by any reasonable standard, you’re probably just racist.

      • Shishioh

He has teeth like a Massecre Wurm and he can’t close his mouth. He looks like he slobbers alot too.

SRK can’t handle the truth anymore.

And I’m a racist black man. Deal with it.

        • TrollThisSRK

          I pity you.

    • frustratedsquirrel

How the hell can you call that ugly? I just don’t see it.

  • Monicker

So, out of all the people who are hating on Noah for mashing with Hulk…how many of you got into the top 48 of any game at Evo?

If you didn’t, then using the only objective data (tournament results) available, I must conclude that this kid is better than you.

  • KingElric21

Noah wit dem straight forward statements lol

  • Dinoz

If he’s not playing Soul Cal and doing well it doesnt matter what he’s doing…

  • Jourdal

Lol wtf? bashing an 8 year old, stay shitty FG community, idk how anyone could feel good talking shit about a kid who’s balls havent dropped yet…i mean really?…and its not like the kid is cocky either. He caught my attention when he was smart enough to run out the clock in one match rather than not pay attention to the life lead like i see when kids around his age are player.

    • Jourdal

      *playing

  • Triggerhappy938

Notably you never hear a single person who did as well as Noah at EVO talking trash about him.

  • Randeeno_TG

A lot of the pople hating, did not go to EVO, and If they did, they didnt make top 50 and If They did they wouldnt be hating. Haters Gonna Hate. Potatoes Gonna Potate, 8 Year Olds Gonna 8

  • Blankanieves

It was more entertaining when people talked trash on Noel about not being that good and having easy pools.

  • ChampionshipEdition

If nothing else, this kid’s 15 minutes of fame is very instructive as to just how bad the online fighting game community has gotten. You guys (the ones being mindless haters) deserve “your” scene taken away from you by new games and fresh blood. Most infantile group of gamers around; makes DOTA and League of Legends jerkwads look like saints by comparison :D

    • obscura

Judging an entire community based on some frontpage SRK comment monsters makes you the jerkwad, sir.

      • ahdonye

No, he has a point. His focus is on the assholes, not the nice people.

        • OakAs

          Yeah, he has a point.

    • Beebo

The ”online” community just doesn’t like it when people get fame for something they don’t deserve.

He is not a prodigy, he is not good and anyone who lost in the tournament against him should be ashamed.

A community shouldn’t cheer on a little kid and BOO against anyone who plays them.
Those are the assholes of the community, even if it’s meant to be a joke some people will get affected by that when they play.

This is a competitive community and money is on the line in tournaments. I don’t hate the kid, I hate the fact that the community is treating him like their baby and not as just another player because being 8 years old doesn’t mean you should be bad at video games. Where are the interviews of the other guys that got top 48 that nobody knows?

    • TrollThisSRK

Nothing could make the dota community look like saints. Nothing.

They are the worst. By far. Much worse than this.

  • KiDIKoRuS

Just wow…. the amount of hate for an 8 year old is astonishing. Now I’ll admit, I was telling my homies at evo that he heavily relied on H hyper armor to go to work and 1 hit kill with aerial tags, but really, an 8 year old making it to top 48 at evo is an amazing achievement alot of you cant say. I gurantee EVERY single one of you running your mouth hasnt made top 48 at evo IN ANY GAME, let alone even go to evo.

Top 8 was as expected in marvel, players who stay placing and winning in tournies. If Viscant winning is a surprise to any you, you need to stay the fuck out of this community since you dont know shit.

    Stay free keyboard warriors.

  • boogityboy

You know I was out of the FG community for a long long time. Back in my day we always had that ONE kid who took trash-talking and attitude to a whole new level. He was despised by all, usually shunned by every other player in the arcade, and basically shut-out and friendless because of their personality and douchebaggery.
Now all those kids have their own website to come onto and spread their insecure little immature BS attitudes freely on the internet without repercussion.
If all of you saying all this garbage about a little 8-year old boy who actually showed some skill and talent in an actual arcade scenario, you’d probably be taken out in the back-alley and beaten.
We should be trying to grow the FG. Yet it’s these kinds of crap responses that people come and see when they visit the front page of this website who may be interested in joining the community.
Sad really, when the elitist jerks are the ones killing their own community and are too stupid to realize it.

    • MREX

You hit the nail on the head, welcome to the internet. Stay offline go to events.

    • darth_nevermore

      this man wins.

    • Jourdal

shame you can like/thank responses on SRK. I know a couple of people who stumbled on stuff like this and thought this is what the FG community was all about.

  • Geniuzz

Damn!!! The sodium levels are off the hook! Most keyboard conquistadors are running their mouth, but we have yet to see any of them perform in any local or international tournament. “He’s nothing special” “I see this all the time online…” yadda yadda yadda, if that is true, where are you guys, when do we get to see your oh so godlike skills, so we can compare you to an eight year old. Remember, if you don’t place 48th in EVO next year, he’s most likely better than you. For all the criticism you can level at Noah, at least he has already done something. Until you can say the same, STFU and go back to the dojo (= training mode).

  • jo_who_jokevin

he was gonna ask Noah to a dinner LOL!

  • thebigbadwolfe

I think the moral of this story is that H spam into X-factor needs to be nerfed.

  • darth_nevermore

i cannot believe that there are still assholes going on about how the kid isnt that great and how he just button mashed!

get a life you sad basement dwellers, its like you’re jealous of an 8 year old because he achieved something and got recognition, and that the only recognition you get is from your mom when you manage to successfully wipe your own ass!

  • The Bucket Of Truth

the fighting game scene is out of control

how is it an 8 yr old, a tranny and a weirdo (viscant) get so much respect? it’s ridiculous

    • boogityboy

Wow, thanks for proving my exact point above. You should also maybe change your name to Bucket of Ignorance.

  • BurstZX

gimmi this kids gamertag so my 6 year old cuz can own him and get an interview

  • Dpendleton

Man some of you folks in here are angry as hell about a young kid. How are going to insult the kid about his looks if you feel that strongly you should never come out the house. I can see if you want to insult his game play go right ahead and most of these posts are done by assholes who think they are great and have not done shit.

I bet half of you guys would not even show up at a tourney if somebody paid you to because your too busy in your I got 4000 PP or super grand lord(whatever they call that crap in marvel) 100 master class to even go out and play offline and don’t feed me that I was an old school arcade player crap. An old school player would not even care about a kid winning. Let little man have his shine and stop being little bitches about it.

    • BurstZX

If someone bought me a 2 way flight ticket I would go and enter the tourney with my own money :D

  • Dpendleton

There are a certain group of folks that are just shit talkers and drunk off of that online anonymity where trolls can feel like hey can say anything they want.

  • azarel_7

Wow…dude is 8 years old….think back to when you were 8..
How many of us went to the local arcades at 8 and played in tournaments?
How many of us at 8 years old beat teenagers/adults at games that they played on a regular basis?
How many of us at 8 could even use a joystick? I mean adults still complain about not being able to use a T.E. properly.
You just don’t see 8 year olds doing this stuff period…that’s why it stands out, plus to boot he got to top 48.

You simply can’t get to top 48 on luck alone….kid deserves the award…it will encourage a younger audience to get involved and it can only grow the community..

Also, everyone talking about his lack of strategy is saying so after the fact…hindsight is 20-20…results are what matters…8 year old…Top 48…that’s worthy of an award..

LMAOOOOOO!!! I LOVE all this drama!

Oh man there is nothing like waking up and having your morning cup of salt before starting your day lol. Anywayz, I’ve said it before and will say it again. Noah has accomplished something very few whether his age or not have accomplished in their lives. He did it through determination, practice, and the amount of knowledge that he has come to acquire at this stage in his life. Is he amazing for having top level skills? No. Is he amazing for getting up in front of a crowd of thousands of people and watched online by thousands more and NOT choking, getting nervous, or falling apart as every one of his opponents more the 3 times his age did? Yes. Stop mixing attention and recognition with having to be good or great at something.

People who aren’t the best at things accomplish major feats everyday. Are you going to chastise publicity for a man who rescues a drowning child from a lake because he isn’t an olympic gold medal swimming champion? Get over yourselves people and stop being so butt-hurt that this child who has only been alive for 8 years has accomplished more than you have in your 30+ years in the FGC. Be mad at yourselves for not doing anything noteworthy and being forgotten and overlooked and step up.

Exposure is Exposure guys…. everyone hating on Noah is giving him more exposure doing exactly what they are hating on, giving him exposure. Recognized Players have said the kid is good, and good for his age. Unless you were at evo following Noah around watching him play (which is kinda creepy) or actually played against him all you know is what he played on stream. You think all he did was mash H till he got the hit, but you don’t know what was going through his head or how he made the other players mess up. You honestly don’t know. To be honest I don’t know either but I’ll trust in the words of established players till proven otherwise.

  • PrideAndFury

I don’t understand why we’re giving him awards and all this recognition. I don’t think he deserves from his performance. Am I the only one who actually watched him play? And quit it with the “stop hating hes 8″ comments. He signed up for the World fighting game tournament. Quit favoring him cause of his age. All combatants regardless of age are on equal footing. Why should he get a reward just because he is younger? Handicapped I can understand, but age? C’mon guys. I’m sure plenty of us around that age were decent at fighting games. We played alot when we were younger.

  • havok214

The haters are ridiculous. Is he a top level player like Justin Wong or Combofiend? No. But you have to put it in the correct context and realize that he is damn good for an 8 year old and outdid most of the people far older and “wiser” than him. Watch the vid below.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8sfYZ0-Dws

The kid in that video is considered a basketball prodigy. Is he ready to take on the NBA? Of course not. Once again, you have to put it in the correct context and see that FOR HIS AGE, he is exceptional and well ahead of his peers. In fact, there are vids of him taking on kids much older than him. But of course the haters would be like “Oh, he’s not as good as Kobe or other pros and his basketball IQ is comparatively lower so he sucks”.

  • thec0re3

Noah is like the itachi of the FGC!! He is going to be very scary if he continues to play.
