Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 GameStop Television Ads

While these UMvC3 television advertisements seem a bit early, GameStop is no-doubt trying to stir the pre-order pot with the bonus costume pack offer. The end 20 seconds of each of these are the same, but each of the three has its own “Not all battles are Ultimate” intro. The TY4AR one would have definitely caught my attention randomly on TV.

  • GreyFoxx

Thank god i don’t really work at GS anymore…

    • Bacn

      wat

    • FunkQue

      Amen

    • Danger3

Me either, I hated working for them!!!!

  • Vess-

    I’m soo pre-ordering it.
The third video was funny lol

  • Sleazoid

    ICE WINDS OF THE NORTH

    • KowtowRobinson

lmfao it definitely wouldn’t have been as funny if it wasn’t so specific.

    • NyuBomber

      He was just RPing Storm.

  • axi0m

GONNA TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE!

I’m surprised no RedrappeR tv spot for this :(

    • Cillranchelllo

I would much rather have a Red rapper track than this lame ass shit.

  • Sauvie

I can now honestly say, that “Unleash your Ultimate” is the most idiotic tagline I have ever heard…does Capcom know what Ultimate means? Funny LARPing commercial though.

    • El_Maiz

“not to be improved upon or surpassed; greatest; unsurpassed”

      I sure hope they don’t.

    • Travis Epic

Ultimate is a universe in marvel terms it also refers to a “Superhero” in some Marvel context. So essentially it means “Unleash your Superhero!”

      • Skudd

Except that there isn’t a single Ultimate-universe variation of any character in this game, so that explanation is very out-the-window at this point.

Truthfully, none of this couldn’t have been handled as DLC and it’s just a cash grab. This game won’t be worth a cent because it doesn’t even come close to fixing some of the game’s biggest, most obvious flaws.

tl;dr Why anybody cares is beyond me.

        • Cillranchelllo

Oh good, my popcorn needed some salt.

          • Redbeard

            I lol’d at this.

Cash grab is a shitty excuse. It would cost us more and them less if it was DLC.

        • NyuBomber

…And it would be less of a cash grab as DLC because…?

        • Doc Strange

Paragraph 1: Who the fuck cares, you’re looking way too deep into a tagline Capcom didn’t even come up with.

Paragraph 2: They were going to release it as DLC, but there was this little catastrophe thing over in Japan that screwed them up. Capcom’s fault I’m sure. Also, it’s good to know that even though we’ve only even seen a third of the new characters you’ve managed to travel into the future to play the finished game and can confirm with your vast fighting game knowledge the quality of the finished product. Thanks.

  • Goldio

Could have used more bionic arm.

  • BardicKnowledge

Love the dance off intro, haha. I’m surprised GS had the insight to choose the right song for a Marvel game.

  • axi0m

Crap, missed the part about it not being the official tv spot (in reference to Red earlier)

  • MTSL_Mantra

Does this feel REAAAAALLY 90′s to anyone else?

    • abacus

well it’s 2011 so the 90s should be back in style any day now

      • NyuBomber

90′s are always in style, dude.

  • Gorehound

They showed a UMvC3 commercial during the Marvel Anime on G4 on Friday during Comic Con.

    Capcom works fast lol.

    • DR Jam

      LMAO

  • Mike Mega

I’d pay big money if Capcom did a game dedicated to video #1, ‘Capcom vs. Hipsters’.

  • NyuBomber

What the SHOULD’VE done was had someone activate X-Factor for these activities.

    Breakdance: Choreographed performance with JabbaWockeeZ
Tetherball: Knock ball off tether and implant into opponent’s head
    LARP: You’re a wizard, Harry.

  • Krimson Cheshire

It’s making me nervous that the ugly new HUD might stay. Crazy commercials. Last one was hilarious!

    • NyuBomber

They already said it wasn’t going to stay. These vids are just doing their job as early marketing tools using the SDCC build. They’re just missing the “Images represent a game ind development” tag.

      • Skudd

Capcom says a lot of things. When do they ever follow through in a way that actually means anything to players?

(Note: I don’t count Third Strike Online because it’s the -clear- exception here)

        • NyuBomber

-Players make legit complaints that SFxT health bars are hard to difficult to read
-Health bars change for the better

Man, you’re right, this sort of thing never happens ,especially not for a game early in development.

  • MegaMettaurX

Amazon’s pre order offer is better.

  • HatersMakeMeFamous

Tryin to sell UMVC3 with these shitty commercials is the same as trying to sell TVC by making action figures fight.

  • Thancruz

    BLINDNESS!

  • SoSoTrue

Storm’s new phrase during the ice storm attack should be: ICE WINDS OF THE NORTH!

  • eJaY

What will we do w/ our old MVC3 copies? Should we keep them or wait till the outcome of UMVC3?

    • DR Jam

I’ll give mine to my cousin once I buy UMvC3

    • TrollThisSRK

They say theres a special bonus if you keep your old mvc3 disc

      • Doc Strange

I’m pretty sure it’s going to be like SSFIV where you just need a save from the first game on your hard drive. You can probably feel free to turn the disc into a fancy coaster.

  • Rhio2k

Holy crap…this shit looks like it belongs on the new Mad Tv. Fuckin’ hilarious.

  • TrollThisSRK

Larping is way cooler than playing MvC3 online.

    Seriously.

    • Kream

You almost got me until I read your name— CLOSE ONE!

  • HokutoSuccessor

DAMMIT, Gamestop would be the one to have the Femme Fatale preorder gift…I hate buying from that shitty company.

    • Theli

Look at it this way. They try their hardest to get you to sell your shit there for nothing so they could sell it back to some other shmuck for epic profit. New games are almost meaningless to them except as a way to get people in-store and as more fodder for used games conversion after you’re tired of them.

Best way to not support gamestop and their ridiculous business practices is to never sell them anything or buy anything used. Oh, and avoid buying cables and store-branded accessories if possible. Anything else should be fine.

  • jaib83

    Don’t buy UMVC3,,this is why

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5W9n7bBgGA

  • asfas

are these costumes EXCLUSIVE to gamestop or will anyone be able to purchase them after the game releases?

  • asfas

are these costumes exclusive to people who pre-order or will anyone be able to pick them up after the game drops?

  • The 4th Letter

After the shit they pulled with AE and how crappy an addition to the game it was (its like they just taped it to Super and said “here”) I will never buy a Capcom game again until I’m sure they are on the last version.

I’d rather be a n00b at a game then a stupid lemming fuck who gives their money away for under valued goods.

    This shit is absurd.

    • CENTRICFLOW187

Go right ahead, I WON’T stop you.
