Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Combo Video from Sweden Test

The Main Man put together a combo video on Sweden’s arcade test version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 that has some really awesome stuff in it. The combo video uses only the Mishima family characters to perform some stylish and damaging juggles. TTT2 is looking pretty exciting from where I’m standing!

Damn looking good! Is this coming to 360 also or no? So many competitive fighters dropping soon, though 3sO gets priority with me.

    • King Rizz

It will be a year or two before this sees console release, but I’m sure when it does it will be on 360 (or whatever system Microsoft has out then).

  • Poshib

About time someone did 1 of these!

  • Fade702

    I LIKE!

  • Valiantheart

I guess I must be in the minority, but I like this series more before it became a juggle fest.

    • vinylricci

Agreed…..but I still feel compelled to get this game! I haven’t serious played tekken since T4, and only tinkered with it a little bit with each subsequent game. This vid sold me though.

      • Okame

I’ve really only played T4, and I know a lot of the Tekken fans say it was one of the worst. I really liked it. I wish they’d go back to some of its mechanics like sloped stages or arenas with really nasty corners (getting pinned against the pillar in the parking garage was particularly harsh).

    • Gimpy

Naw, I feel the same way also but alot of the Tekken fanatics would argue otherwise. I do like this video because I am a Mishima fanboy. LOL!!

    • AAK

The double standards some SRK posters have when they complain about juggles in Tekken when Marvel is right next door doing things 10x worse.

      • subt-L

indeed. i’d also like to ask when tekken was NOT a juggle fest. juggles are longer, yeah, but they aren’t any less abundant.

maybe if you didn’t know how the game was played, then you might think that.

    • evilj

You probably weren’t a real fan because as the juggles got longer, the damage remained the same. They didn’t play a bigger part outside of memorizing a few more inputs. I could understand if you said you liked the game when turtling wasn’t as prevalent.

      • Substantial

I want to +1 this comment.

    • terecho

True…And those juggles don’t even look good more. lp->dash->lp->dash->lp->dash->lp->dush->lp->dush->lp->dush…..

      • Icege

Who the heck does 1, dash, 1, dash, 1, dash combos outside of maybe Paul and a few characters trying to get a wall splat when it’s somewhat close by?

        • Substantial

Nobody, just another case of somebody not knowing what they’re talking about.

  • Robo-mitsu

Jesus Christ! Did I just see someone juggle off of Death Fist with tag assault!? When TTT2 drops, all other games are taking a backseat for me.

  • Gorehound

Were there a lot of players at the TTT2 test?

If they had time to make that combo vid there must of not of been a lot of players.

  • Fearless

As we may already know, Tekken is not for everyone, maybe that’s the reason why they have more than enough time to make the video.

Anyway, Tekken is a staple in my gaming collection, so I’m totally in for this.

BTW, its just me or now the EWGF launch the opponent a little bit higher on counter?

  • KillaFox

Gonna get back into tekken when this drops.

  • jak d ripr

Damn that was actually pretty tight, might give this game a look when it drops on consoles.

  • PROnetwork_117

    That music was epic!

  • Panic Ave

I don’t know why juggling bothers me more than Marvel combos but it does.

  • insanelee

    pretty.

  • FrankenZtein

HOW can this happen in Sweden and i wasnt aware of it!!!!!

  • Diernes

    Mishima Fighting Karate > Shotokan…..

Some of those combo’s were tight, and any mahvel player complaining about juggles in this game really just needs to STFU…

    Mahvel =
    one hit death’s basically…

  • danime

Arcade + Sweden. Now ain’t that something!

    • Airtola

Right!? I never knew Swedish players would be this good cause for some reason (probably because I don’t know any international players that aren’t from Australia, Canada, and Asia), I just thought everywhere else was free. This just goes to show that you can’t sleep on anyone, anywhere.

  • SadisticIV

Seriously its so funny how Capcom fighters can do no wrong and every other fighter gets criticized and hated on… Tekken has too many juggles.. Yet its ok that you have a glitchy game like Marvel where you can keep someone juggled for 95% of the game by using exploits…

  • Zenme

If anyone’s interested harada said on twitter that production on TKxSF has begun, and he wants your opinion on wich characters to put in.

I used to love Tekken. I loved the aesthetic, the characters were awesome, the animations look sweet.

Then I got into it, and started seeing the silly juggle combos you need to learn if you want to be competitive in the game, and I just completely lost interest. It’s totally at odds with both fun and the aesthetic of the game to keep someone airborne by doing three light punches in a row. That just looks so stupid.

    • DMasta718

You don’t even need to learn so many juggles just to play competitive. At most, you could just learn about 2 or 3 staple juggles. It’s not like it’s required. Besides, if you have a decent ground game and at least know the basics, you’ll be fine.

  • J.Scogz

After looking at this… I want to ask: Is it going to be the TTT, 1-character defeated to win style? I just fear that we’re going to see some broken combos.

    • Cryoh

Yeah, it still keeps the TTT character loss = round loss format.

  • Diernes

Actually one of the best things you can do to improve your game in tekken, is to play matches against people without using the juggles at all.. trust me you will find your fundamentals and general defense will improve 10 fold….

The main problem with tekken is that to be good at it you need an encyclopedia of knowedge to compete.

In end the end who cares, a juggle actually takes some skill to execute and there is an element of failure throughout the combo most of them dont even do any where near as much damage as say an ultra in SFIV, and yeah I am getting over the common opinion that every game is shit unless it’s made by capcom.

AE edition is rubbish… there i said it.

  • Diernes

Don’t see there being broken combo’s in this game. Tekken 6 is one of the most balanced fighters of all time…

  • BTB

How is it that combos always impress everyone? The only bad combo is if it’s infinite.

  • Monicker

Tekken just has too many moves. In a 40+ cast, every character has at least 80 moves, with a few having almost 200.

I love Tekken and am decent at it, but trying to get my friends to learn it is like inviting them to calculus camp. Hopefully SFxTekken will draw in some new players.

    • Terrastorm

You are only using a fraction of a movelist in a match.

  • mega_buster

I like marvel and sf because of overall game but I think Iam pick this up when it drops an see whats all the hate anyway sf4 series is dead to me Iam done with it

  • ziggybgw

i just miss the days when Tekken had no walls =/. I’m not a Namco hater either…I dislike MvC as well…all of them…

  • tmt

looks awesome, definitely going to buy for sure.

    BUT!!!!

i really hope they put in a old school mode or something, where there is no bound moves. that would be awesome

  • Zac

Something’s wrong if you didn’t get crunk as soon as you saw Kazuya turn into Devil on the school stage.

The king of fighting games is back.

  • EagiZ

This is “Webhallens” stuff. Swedes can read about it here: http://www.webhallen.com/blog/

    ctrl+f “tekken”.

  • Mosque

Wow! what bollocks! Didn’t they say there that TTT2 could only work in Japan, Oceania, Korea, etc ? That it had to connect to servers and it would be laggy so it would not be able to make to the states. Why does Sweden have it? Tekken is huge in the states and it doesn’t have any location test. This is so frustrating..

  • Diernes

sweden has awesome sauce internets…. so it may end up there but isnt this just a loc test you gys have had them in amecia pretty much with e3 and shit and you can play it at evo

  • d3f1anc3

    Awesome CMV, awesome soundtrack.
