Capcom Rolls Out UK Fight Club Events

Fighting game fans in the UK, take note. Capcom is rolling out a year’s worth of Fight Club events across the country! Here is the blurb from Capcom;

“Remember the good ol’ days, when you could wander along to the local arcade, hang out, play some fighting games, have your money stolen and go home sobbing? Amazing days, now sadly gone forever. Fortunately, something else is now amazing – Capcom’s imminent UK Fight Club tour!

Over the next 12 months Capcom will visit cities all around the UK giving gamers nationwide the chance to play the very best fighting games that Capcom has to offer, as well as games that aren’t even out yet. In other words, games FROM THE FUTURE. Leading the attempt to break the rules of physics will be Street Fighter X Tekken’s UK debut, and also possibly some other secret things that can’t possibly be confirmed yet. There’ll be DJs playing whatever passes for music these days, food and alcoholic drink. What’s more, all of this will be completely free. Free!

Here are some bullet points to help you understand the nature of these events:

• Free games
• Free food
• Free drink
• Free Willy*

The tour kicks off in London on Saturday August 20th at the KO Gym in east London, with legendary Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono on hand to sign your Street Fighter paraphernalia and lay down the law in matches of Street Fighter X Tekken. Doors open at 7.30pm and the first 50 people in the queue will get an extra special gift.

It’s not all about London as the tour then continues through the cities of Bristol, Edinburgh, Norwich, Brighton and Liverpool.

Due to the alcoholic nature of these events entry will be strictly for over-18s only. Sorry.

More dates and specific venues will be announced over the coming weeks!

*No actual Free Willy”

one time i wish i could be in europe over usa

    • DaveTheRave

I’m not allowed in the USA, but I’m not fussed now, if thats all it takes to make someone wish they were in europe over usa. By the way UK is in europe but I would never generalise the places as europe, its just UK mentioned so europe isn’t the best way to generalise the area. Anyway London and teh Rest Of the UK are well worth visiting, we’re leaders in Music, style and video games like GTA are from these sides, pound for pound there’s no other place on the planet that has this much concentrated goodness.

I live no where near the current list of locations… A road trip is in order!!!! Great news. Some love for the UK scene :)

  • DaveTheRave

Well it’s near me I’m North East London so not much of a mission. Don’t know what they mean by whatever passes for music these days, well since DubStep comes from London and all the trailers seem to have adopted Dubstep tunes as there background music then I’m pretty sure that’s what will be playing, but some Drum & Bass & some nu skool breaks would deffiently put a smile on my face. apart from GTA and some other big name games which I don’t play so won’t mention the UK has left the rest of the world to make my favaourite games, but when it comes to music London & UK can’t be beat. I can’t beleive how Dubstep has infected the rest of the worl and how much it has influenced commercial tunes, if the internet was big back in late 80s and early 90s I’m sure Jungle, hardcore breaks & drum & bass would be even bigger, just don’t see how we embraced acid house from the US so well that it takes the internet for other countries to catch on.

  • Karas13

no chance I’m travelling to bethnal green for a sausage party :P P. If it was in central london at least everyone could hit the clubs/bars after.

  • CannonSpike

Looks like Liverpool will be the closest for me since I’m in Leeds. Need to make sure I’ve got time off work for it then!

  • JinTheAvenger
