MvC3 – Team Combos for Dormammu, Wesker, Akuma

Dormammu is primarily played in a way that doesn’t leave his opponent cornered very often, but with the right assists, his combos can move opponents to the corner pretty easily. KenAdamsNSA shows in this Dormammu video why Wesker and Akuma are such strong assists for the lord of the dark dimension.

    I don’t know if that last one would be too useful; I don’t know who would start pressing buttons before getting that close to the ground. As for the rest, even though it’s all very basic stuff, the damage output and the meter gain are both really good. Dorm is strong all around.

      Yeah, that last one didn’t seem all that great. Wouldn’t it have been better if you did a st. L to actually reset and then go into a air loop?

        I would think so. Once you’ve established to your opponent that you do the poke reset, it becomes a guessing game. Viscant does this a lot, and so do I. Sometimes you go for the airgrab, and once the opponent learns to expect it, you mix it up.

          IIRC, Viscant does it so much with wesker, because even if wesker’s air throw is tech’d, he can mix them up again with j.H / throw. It’d be silly not to do it, if you don’t plan on DHCing, though.

    I find it funny that this is a team I’ve fooled around with and this video is pretty much half the stuff I figured out with the comp.

    I actually use Doom instead of Akuma. I use Plasma Beam the same way.

    Sucks that i play dorm as anchor. So i won’t be using them assists unless i’m up for shenanigans.

    Man Akuma is everyone’s friend…

    Yeah the only problem with this particular setup is that in this team, Dorm is probably not preferred to be out as the point over Wesker for too long. Still its a great video with really nice setups.

    this is actually my main team, with Wesker on point, Dorm second, and Akuma as anchor. this is not meant to be offensive in any way, but this isnt even a slight suggest of the potential of this team. i appreciate the solid understanding of basic BnBs, the reset setups, and the damage output, but honestly, there is much more to be had with this team than a few simple Dorm Resets and corner bnbs. unblockable setups aside (Dorm fly into air S while calling wesker assist is brutal to defend if your opponent is scared of your dorm, and they SHOULD be, and akuma demon flip kick works the same way), there are lots of liberation setups, air tag combos, assist setups for all the chars, xfactor setups, etc. i deff enjoyed the setups, but i hope that you can follow this up with a more elaborate example of this teams potential. as someone who plays it, i enjoy people understanding how scary this team can really be, and we need to show all the Pheonix, Wolvie, and Sentinel mongers what a tough team with tons of options, great synergy, and brutal setups can do. having dive kick with sent drones is good, but having terrifying options no matter who is on point, and no matter what assist you are calling is real power.

      I agree. Cross-up Tatsu combined with Wesker assist. Teleport cross-ups with Tatsu assist. Lots of good stuff to explore further.

        Dorm dark hole assist sets up teleports for wesker and akuma also. works really well when you snap someone in or kill a character.

          Oh yeah, Dark Hole lockdown leading to mix-ups for both too :D
