E3 2011 Street Fighter X Tekken Gameplay Part 20

Another twenty minutes of match footage coming your way below, as Level|Up’s Shingin and I continue exploring the E3 build of Street Fighter X Tekken. A few of these matches show that, at least in this build, the team with the higher total health wins in a time out. Its also worth noting that Kazuya’s normals are just as amazing as King’s, and that his footspeed made his footsies game really fun and easy. I also start experimenting with Julia’s forward, forward + medium punch, which is a quick elbow strike. Ken’s step overhead kick causing a ground bounce is pretty amazing, as well.

does these literally have to be articles? 20 DIFFERENT articles of the SAME thing >.>

    • Humpski

Man, no matter what is posted someone complains. If I was the person running this site, giving a FREE service to the world I would just shut it down for a year and give everyone SRK.com withdraw until they appreciate what they have.

      • Kenn305

Still dont u see the Main Page is being filled with 20 parts of the same things just gameplay. literally u act like im getting mad over 2 combo vids. And another thing. Do you own this site? NO so stfu because i was bringing up an arguement. I didnt say the videos here are bad but still 20 different articles in a 2 day span of basically the same thing, matches of SFx, is ridiculous IMO..

      • Banzboy

That’s dumb as shit since you will lose almost all the guys who go to this site daily. SRK down for one year? Then I’ll find myself a new site.

    • The Lone Dragon

You people have no sense of hype or promotion.

It’s like the people who foolishly ask for the entire roster of a game to be released immediately, instead of gradually over time, like companies do. Spread it out to maintain more hype and interest over a longer period of time.

      “That’s just basics” [/Tager]

      • Kenn305

One im not hype for this game at all. Two It’s like watching 20 different variations of the same thing over and over again. I was merely asking why keep on posting alot of the same thing as Articles. 20 is a big number sir. Well, for repitition

        • TerraZero

If the game doesn’t interest you then why bother watching it? Why even click the topic it? Does the sight of it on the front page burn your retinas?

          • Kenn305

I am interested i was merely asking why post 20 articles about this games in a 2 day span of the same stuff. basically i dont think all the vids should be up here but it was MY opinion and stay out of it.

          • Kenn305

i am not hype but i want to play this game. or try it out. When you give games too much hype it will become trash. Like MvC3

        • CannonSpike

No one’s forcing you to watch them.

I’ve watched a couple and had my fill and may go back to the rest and may not. It’s nice to have the option there.

        • Diernes

it’s cause no one’s playing it properly yet…. I haven’t seen many of the tekken characters being used anywhere near there potential. Doesn’t seem like any tekken players are testing this and it’s all full of SF players who are trying to play it like some twisted mix between SF and marvel. The tekken characters have alot of moves and strings no one seems to be using…

    • MrSoada

Why complain? I seriously do not see the point of taking time out of your day to click on an article that you obviously do not care for to comment about how little you care for it. Shut the fuck up and move along.

  • AmishOpiate

What’s good with Chun’s face in the intro pic? It looks funky to me.

  • kid craft 24

Is it just me or does Julia play kinda like yun. I mean they gave her that lunging punch, that dashing shoulder hit and that move where she pushes the opponent away while spreading her arms out on each side.

    • IKARI263

yun plays like Julia, seeing as how Julia was a character first.

      • PKSkyler

….even tho Julia was a character first, she would still “play like Yun” because its her first time in a SF game. If Indiana Jones was in SF x T and had all Yun’s moves, he would “play like Yun”, not vice versa just because Indiana Jones was a character first.

      • The Lone Dragon

No she wasn’t. Both Tekken 3 and SF3 came out in 1997. SF3 came out in February. Tekken in March. So technically Yun was first.

        • Kageromaru Sho

Interesting conversation…not to overthink too much, but Julia is the evolution of Michelle Chang, who was in the first two Tekkens. You can’t say that Yun was the first to translate his and Julia’s fighting style in a fighting game, because Michelle beat them both to it.

BTW, what does it matter? Their moves are basic Kung Fu and its cool to have both SF and Tekken to have a practitioner. Heh, that’s all.

          • The Lone Dragon

And, Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter beat them all to the punch.

Anyways, most of the moves that people think Yun took from Julia/Michelle were only added to Tekken AFTER Yun was made, i.e. post SF3.

It’s Kung Fu, a martial art that predates video games, so.

        • rayplay

          Wasn’t Julia’s moveset based on Michelle’s, though?

        • IKARI263

true but michelle chang had the lunge punch, shoulder tackle and double kicks in 94 and 96. but even still akira yuki has had them since 93 soooo hes shittin on all of them

          • The Lone Dragon

Michelle didn’t have lunge punch, double kick, or shoulder tackle in T1 or T2.

She (and Julia) got most of that stuff in TTT1 and beyond…which was after SF3.

  • shotofighter4

This game is for people who think SF4 matches aren’t long enough and that MVC3 doesn’t have enough time over wins.

    • MrSoada

This is a beta (or maybe alpha) build of the game. No one knows how to play it yet. Remember Marvel week 2? Time out wins were common. Now there are practically none. Give it some time.

  • Gojira

We’ve been getting these vids for weeks and I still haven’t seen what King and Hwoarang’s supers are.

    • The Lone Dragon

You didn’t see the official trailer that shows both?

  • Two Up

It’s typically for some characters to have a lot more moves than others for some reason. Who wouldn’t use Chun after seeing that cross over combo and knowing is no longer a charge character in a ridiculously slow game. Too bad there isn’t a counter because that was basically half of what I did or break guard when simply moving faster.

  • xjaden

It’s interesting to know this game was nominating for “the most disappointing games” on Gametrailers list

    • Ralenzo

What’s even more interesting is that gametrailers also nominated for it “best fighting game”

      • Ghostal

I think whats most interesting is that people give a shit about what a general gaming website thinks about fighting games.

        • Castigation

          Word.

  • Shinkuu Kikoken

I really enjoyed that. Julia is already one of my mains, as she was before in Tekken.

  • mega_buster

I dont play or own any tekken game but julia and alisa is my fav I like alisa because she has pink hair lol anyway hope yun is in this game since you can wiff normals to build meter

  • Wasted

Idiots. Lee (SF1, not Chaolan) beat everybody to the punch when it comes to that fucking dash Punch.

  • mothugs

    make dashes fast.
    and double the damage.

  • hexidecimal

Kazyua seems like my type of character. Great normals, good speed and no fireballs. It’s weird cause I don’t mind jumping fireballs (i.e. Ibuki’s kuni) but I always always through ground fireballs when I shouldn’t and get punished. It’s like some odd tic that I can’t seem to control.

  • ISLEDGEI

Quite honestly, I”m not impressed. But I’m still going to purchase and try to master this game, simply because there’s gonna be competition for it.

  • Diernes

Still only seen one person in these vid’s play kazuya properly in tekken style, complete with his tekken strings and correct use of wave dashing EWGF’s mix’s up’s/mind games with hell sweeps ect..

Since I am not going to get my hands on it, I wanna see some good kazuya player from tekken play this game, Ryan hart sounds like the man for the job. (since he is ace at SF as well)

  • Soplox

IDK if is because the game hasn’t released yet and the players are new on it but I dont see combos on this game just ATK, ATK, LAUNCHx3 all the matches
