SSF4AE – Dan Combos

Dan can link a lot of normal attacks in Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition that he previously could not. Do these changes make Dan into a more combo-video-friendly character? You bet they do. Thanks to Dark2Zone for the upload.

    Stellar! I particularly enjoyed the portions where he ran the dummy to the corner. It gave me a chance to catch my breath for the next helping of Dan.

      I’m pretty sure Dan is actually a parody of the Art of Fighting chars. He has a Gi like Ryo and Hair/face like Robert. I’ll be damned if he doesn’t look alot like Segal though.

        Yeah from what I heard Capcom made Dan to make fun of SNK because apparently they had made some characters that resembled Capcom characters.

    Having Dan not be the worst character in the game seems to defeat his purpose for existing in the first place, but w/e.

      It’s not the first time it’s happened. In fact there are plenty of games where Dan is not at the bottom of the tier list.

    Eh, I’m not impressed. Almost all those combos used full meter and a whole lot of them used ultra, for less than spectacular results.

    I get it, we can FADC a fireball and do another normals link. This doesn’t really revolutionise my understanding of Dan.

    Still, he is my hero. I wouldn’t want him to be good. The joy of Dan is wrecking someone with ridiculous mixups and reads, then just cracking them halfway through the second round when they realise they’re losing to Dan. If he had sick pokestrings and meterless combos it would just undermine that.

    Yeah, AE Dan is pretty solid, much easier for him to keep up lk danku pressure with the improved cl. lk and cr. mp, and cl.mp is now a great hit confirm into cr .mp/mk xx EX Danku. The FADC combos are hard to land out of the corner imo, but still cool. He can straight link cr. mp’s off EX gadoukens there now too, because of the 5 frames startup, so you can do cr. mp xx EX gado, cr. mp xx gado FADC whatever.

    He’s also really decent against the twins from what I’ve seen so far, I think it may be possible for him to do some meaties that beat Yun’s wakeup options…. need to mess with that.
