MvC3 – Super Skrull Combos and Resets

1up Miles put together an excellent Marvel vs Capcom 3 Super Skrull combo and reset video that focuses on his team of Skrull, Spencer, and Taskmaster. Combo and reset videos for Spencer and Taskmaster are coming soon, but for now learn a little something about the power of the Super Skrull while listening to music from Sonic the Hedgehog games.

Please show some appreciation to the makers of these videos, and not act like we’ve seen it a hundred times, because we haven’t. It was actually refreshing as hell to see a skrull video instead of the usual characters we see every day.

Skrull has a lot of stuff most people won’t see coming sometimes but in my opinion a lot of it is based off gimmicks. I’d love to be proven wrong but thats just how he feels to me. Plus thing I dislike the most about Skrull is when you’re trying to do something and accidentally input Tenderizer… ugh so annoying =\

  I had that problem with Skrull early on, but once you learn to do things more deliberately with him, random Tenderizers aren’t a problem.

    rofl, I thought the same thing. But I still sometimes get random, unwanted air weasel shot with dante during some air combos, and I know for a fact I only hit the button once, I have never mashed, yet I still sometimes get it.

I’d say mainly because he has some terrible, terrible matchups, his normals are kinda bad, making it really hard to start a combo, and he has no special to keep pressure going. Oh, and he’s unplayable online, being execution-heavy.

Everyone can one-hit kill, but what does he bring to the table otherwise?

ps. I love the character, but I’ve never been able to build a succesful team around him.

  A friend of mine plays ____/SheHulk/Super Skrull and it’s pretty dirty. You’d be surprised how much damage a She Hulk combo DHC’d into INFERNO does. Especially if the third character is, say, Zero, where you can add a Rekkoha to the mix.
  
  Oh, and to me, this team with Zero is one of the best anti-Phoenix teams around. Rekkoha X Factor Rekkoha DHC Inferno = chipped to death without touching the ground. Then you have SheHulk who can just hug Dark Phoenix right out of her activation.

  Skrull has ways around everyone. It is kinda ‘gimmicky’, but it works well. I’d say him, Spiderman, an Taskmaster are the ‘hidden gems’ of the game. They all do really good damage and can actually handle most characters well.
  
  Elastic slam resets/half screen grabs make the enemy think twice. And you can average 400K~ presuper off it. That’s not counting the look that was in this video.

    what are you doing that gives 400k meterless off elastic slam? I’m only getting just over 300k w/o assists.

  I agree, best put together video I’ve seen so far. Between the menu before and after the video, and constantly having inputs / damage / notes being shown. Very, very nice.

I don’t play a lot of MvC3 but why don’t a lot of people use Skrull? I thought he was good/

This is amazing! It’s well put together, and it is my team, one of the two, at least. The only difference currently is that I have Taskmaster on Anchor, and he’s wearing his orange costume. I like to call it “Agent Orange,” it’s a pretty sick team. After the next two installments, I just may switch Spencer and Taskmaster’s places. Good work, awesome editing, and great info.

great video as a skrull user this helped me, skrull is a underrated character, yes he is based of gimmicks but with certain assists your gimmicks can be made safe, so why not use him, yea you can run into trouble but who can’t. he does well against pheonix and does insane damage with level 3 xfactor but then again who doesnt .

i personally like him becuase he has high damage combo’s he is difficult to use but too too difficult, he just takes practice, if your getting random tenderizors your hitting to many buttons simple as that, learn to not do that and you will be a 10x better worked for me

If this video proves anything, it’s that Super-Skrull can convert on an opening. Getting that opening, however, is a bit trickier.

Awesome video. Love the format and love the Skrull tech. Hopefully people keep the not Dante/Wesker/Zero etc combo videos coming.

How is he getting all of those ground bounces in one combo? I keep trying the first combo and the char auto rolls out after the first bounce…

  IIRC, you have to hit at a specific distance to get more than one ground bounce. That’s probably why he’s jumping backward.

Finally! Footage on a character that isn’t named Wolverine. Good for Super Skrull. Shows his gimmicks work beyond…well, gimmicks. That and the fact there using Sonic 3 music(Hydro City Act 1 and 2 remixed) is more awesome!

  Hehe I feel ya man. I main Skrull, so I could concur. It’s a nice video tho. I imagined he could do the dhc trick as well…My guess is that he can do it with mags in the middle of an air exchange, and maybe torching under Tron’s air capture, but I never tried it. Using the ise loop as a ‘bnb’ I would question, but it’s a fine vid.
