Winner of Tournament in Ireland Headed to Evo

Ireland had it’s second tournament in which the winner would get a trip to the Evo World Finals last Saturday. The event, hosted by www.StreetFighter.ie, had 60 entrants. You can see a video of the grand finals below, and check out a full playlist as well. (nsfw)

Full results can be found here.

  • Nando

is patty sponsored by Guinness too?

j/p, is 60 people a lot? (norcal bigger?)

    • HBRD

Most US majors are a few hundred people, but 60 is a decent number for an area with a smaller scene.

  • Nageki

For ireland, 60 people is HUGE

  • stev0knev022

Yeah Norcal is bigger, but then the population of california is 6-7 times the population of ireland.

  • barbicoh

    “OMG this shit is scripted!”

    LOL

  • Sairus

T’was definitely a great event, props to the organisers for running it without a hitch, and props to the players for making it a memorable tournament!

  • Desward

    congrats to the winner

  • stew

nice, a honda! I love honda, so I’m looking forward to seeing one besides Ross as Evo.

  • D-Proto

that honda was so bad lol

    • .Singe

People need to stop saying “That player was so bad”.

He’s good enough to win a tournament, therefore probably good enough to beat you, me, or anyone else.

This negativity bullshit on SRK needs to stop.

      • TrollThisSRK

They’re being entirely truthful. Anyone can win a tourney when you’re up against bads.

Why is this on the front page? I’d be surprised if this guy makes it out of pools.

        • cow8111

I think it’s on the front page to encourage international participation.

        • GM Dak

          lol troll

Okay so, if you go to Evo, you can win an easy $50 in a money match with him so.

I’ll confidently front the cash for that.

  • kikimaru024

Another thing you don’t get from the video is that they’re both pad players, and beat every stick player in that room.

    • Owwmykneecap

      Ireland’s so free.

      it’s like a Free State.

  • A-Trak

@D-Proto & Troll – Care to link to any of your tournament wins so we can critique? Or even any of your gdlk footage at all?
It’s easy to be a internet superhero and negatively comment, far harder to win tournies.

    @.Singe – well said.

    • cow8111

      I know rite…

    • TrollThisSRK

Please explain how watching ME play is relevant at all to how both of these guys are clearly not very good.

Someone who got ~30th place at any US major would’ve made both of these guys look free.

  • BardicKnowledge

Wow, an incredibly tense final set here — others are missing out by not watching this one.

  • stev0knev022

Wasnt the best ive ever played i have to admit, in fact neither of us played up to our best their but thats one match, tough to judge how good someone from one match.

Ft10 i played vs a very good cody player.

    • JayDay

Don’t worry about the trolls. People hate on the internet because they are not fulfilled in their own reality based lives. I enjoyed the match very much. Congrats, and good luck. I’ll be rooting for you at evo.

  • WINBACK

Oh yeah I saw the live stream of this. It was great. Loved watching Noel Brown get carried in teams.

  • Havik

Those guys were solid. Ireland is no joke.
