“King of Chinatown” Film Finds Distributor

IndiePix is proud to announce the acquisition of the KING OF CHINATOWN, filmmakers Jordan Levinson and Calvin Theobald’s documentary about videogame prodigy Justin Wong. KING OF CHINATOWN is the story of what it takes to be a professional gamer by following one of the US’s most prolific fighting game players, Justin Wong as he rises to fame with the release of Street Fighter 4.

IndiePix will be handling distribution for DVD, digital, and new media worldwide. The deal was negotiated by Mark Defrancis of IndiePix and producer-director Calvin Theobald.

Sounds like good news all around! We’ll keep you updated on “King of Chinatown”.

I saw the screening of this film at CEO2011. It was very well done and a must watch for the FGC. Long live the FGC.

  Same here, I saw it at CEO and really enjoyed the movie. Then again, I wasn’t expecting much either. It was still really well done, though.

FINALLY. I’ve been wanting to see this film since it was announced. Hopefully “I Got Next” becomes available soon to.
With No Cost

I saw the trailer and I was disappointed. I thought there was going to be more cgi effects than Xmen First Class.

    We’ll work on that for the next film when we have a budget. I think your half kidding, but we wanted to have more impact during the fighting. I think we did a great job with what we had though. We got a lot of good feedback from the fight scenes

      oh i was totally kidding. believe me, when i get the chance to see this film i’ll jump on it — hopefully via itunes/xbl digital purchase. people troll and hate a lot here at SRK, but for real we support any efforts within our community that are positive. there are a lot of day 1 purchases i’ve found out about from just checking front page articles. have to let you know that this is one of them since i got so amped from just watching the trailer.
