Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations Revealed

In what looks like a scan from an issue of Jump!, a new Naruto fighting action game has been revealed for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Apparently, the title is Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations, and it will include pre-time-skip characters like Haku, Zabuza, and young Naruto, along with new characters like Darui, Raikage, and C.

    not sure if this is a good thing or not. last game was ok, but i really felt that the limiting of moves just stopped it from being really great. time will tell.

    Sounds good. Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 was a pretty fun game and followed the story pretty well (although dumbed down). Characters were all pretty diverse and unique. Looking forward to see what Generations brings to the series!

    The series on the PS2 Narutimate Hero was actually pretty fun and engaging. Me and my friends played that game for days lol. There was actually even a small tournament scene for it.

    Naruto UNS2 was the best Naruto fighting game ever, I hope this follows the path… And also, on the recent storylines we saw some old faces from the first half of naruto…

    This game would have been fun for me if the substitution move wasn’t so easy brain dead to pull off I think. You were basically able to substitue everything. Throws, Ultras, supers, kunai, everything. It was too easy and it was low risk high reward. No risk even.

      I’m guessing the point isn’t that it’s not Capcom (if anything that’d attract more trolls. judging by what I’ve seen on the site already), but that it’s not going to be a competitive fighting game to the same extent other games covered by this site are. Variety is good, but for this to be posted on a site that that advocates competitive play, you know this post is strange.

      Anyways, the Naruto games tend to be good for some fairly mindless fun. The fact that old characters will be in it has me interested. I’m a sucker for nostalgia appeal.

    I felt like shit after wasting 60 bucks on Storm 2. Plus Zabuza and Haku should’ve been in Storm 1. If you want a somewhat deep Naruto game try Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 on the Wii(inb4wiisucks)

    I’m no big fan of the anime, but the Naruto GNT series for the GameCube was by far the best fighting game I’ve ever played simply because of the crazy fun three and four player matches. They also had tournaments for that game, I believe (though I didn’t care much for one-on-one fights).

    Moral to the story: Some of the fighting games spawned off of mangas or animes can be pretty good!

    Why is it so hard for publishers to make a remotely normal licensed fighting game? I don’t even like Naruto but after seeing the graphics in the last game I would play it just for the eye candy if I only had more than, like, 2 attacks.

    Im so ignorant of the current development of the games for this anime (cause i stop to read/watch 4 years ago).
    Which series this game belongs to? To the Gekitou series (SF-like design and plain presentation) or the Narutimate series (Super moves with lengthy animation)???

    Although i dont like the anime anymore id be interested in a “serious” fighting game project, by some good company. Namco, for example…

    Anime games are not a SFIII and people shouldnt look them with such high standards, but its always good to see a well made anime FG (“partially” defined by these “competitive” standards). Like HnK, SBX, JoJo — best anime FG.
