Capcom on Marvel vs Capcom 3 DLC

In a recent interview with IGN, Capcom’s Christian Svensson was asked why we haven’t heard anything about Marvel vs Capcom 3 downloadable content. Sven could only reply with; “I’m going to ask you to wait and see. We have been more radio silent than I would like us to be.”

Will we hear something at E3 or San Diego Comic Con? Or will we have to wait longer?

[tip from Jon C]

  • The Ace of Knaves

Looks like Super MvC3 is already in the works.

    • Chaos Dante

I hope not, but I wouldn’t totally put it pass them smh

  • ChrisOh

Let us hope that this means more than just extra stages.

  • Suppage

Whatever…They wont release anymore characters. If by DLC they mean more lame ass shadow battles, and all the other useless malarkey that doesn’t evolve the game one bit, then I’m highly disappointed. We need more and new style of characters that change the meta-game and keep people on their toes at all times. THAT’S the real way to evolve this game. Not release a new version of this game with 20+ new characters at once. Good goin’ Capcom.

    • Jamheald

It changes the game, not the meta-game.

  • Rain

    I’m Okay with Super MVC3.

    Hoping for Strider…..

    • Zerokaiser

      ^THIS

    • Deddjay

      This. A thousand times this.

    • thejohnsonrock

also can a brother get some charlie/nash or some bison/dictator? capcom make my dreams come true plz

    • asedano

Nah, that would be a good thing… As we all know, good things haven’t come from Capcom since PowerStone 2

    • Madskizophrenik

Can we get some Power Stone 2 characters up in this piece???

    • thec0re3

      yes please bring him….

  • acidhairball

I wouldn’t mind if they came out with a new version with more characters.

    • roosterIllusion

Yea as long as it cost twenty bucks less like SSF4. Even then alot of people will probably be angry

  • leakingpear

It’s either Super MVC3 or it’s a Marvel licensing issue and they’re being handtied by Marvel due to some release schedule of theirs (probably related to films or entirely new characters).

    • King Sky

As much as I love a lot of Marvel characters, I must admit that they don’t know shit when it comes to games, and they have had a lot to do with peoples favorites Marvel characters not making it into MVC3. I understand that they want to use this game to market their current characters, but this game is supposed to be a dream match, it’s not a magazine ad for all the shit your up to. They should just let Capcom do what they want.

      • darth_nevermore

what are you talking about? does dormammu have his own series or film coming out? capcom make the game and choose who is in by choosing popular and eclectic characters who may have fun fighting styles.

        you’re talking shit,gtfo.

        • Nogood56er

No he’s not. Marvel had the final say for all the Marvel Characters. The reason Venom wasn’t in the game is because he’s currently not part of any running story. They didn’t want characters that couldn’t potentially sell comics.

          • TStare

Actually, Venom recently was (as Mac “Scorpion” Gargan) in the Dark Avengers and subsequent comics. Afterwards, and currently, Venom is used as a suit controlled by the government. Flash Thompson is the one who uses the suit in black ops.

Point is, Capcom is working with Marvel and they reach compromises on both ends.

  • strizzmatik

I’m hoping they patch it out of existence. The game, I mean.

    • ShugotenshiIsTaken

^^This. For the love of god, This.

    • Deddjay

      Haters gonna hate.

      • Jaybonaut

MvC3 created haters when it was released with its grandiose lack of features, imbalance, and noob friendliness.

        • GM Dak

MvC created haters when it introduced the most over the top crazy game possible when SF players just wanted to jab eachother to death.

          • the mossad man

^^^knows what he’s talking about. They’re just mad cause if they hold back down or mash they get fucking ROASTED. Oh whatever will they do tomorow when AE drops and they realize they can’t do that anymore? Life is good…

            Makoto for President

        • Gaudion

Yeah, because MK9 and AE are so much more balanced.

  • King Rizz

If SMvC3 is true, then I hope they do something similar to SSF4AE where we have a separate download option rather than having to get a hard disk. I’m also keeping my fingers crossed for a DHC Glitch fix and a debuff for X-Factor (or just remove it entirely). They could also let us pick which version we want to play whenever we log in like they’re doing with AE.

    • LuMaLo

Why the fuk would u want the dhc glitch fixed? Its the ONE THING keeping more characters playable than the usual… i for one wuld not be playing Jill if she couldnt start the DHC glitch, and i love playing jill, but she just CANT CUT IT if she doesnt have that dammage upgrade with DHC glitch… the DHC glitch makes this game BETTER AND MORE BALANCED, stop trying to kill it -_-

      • irondragon

I think they should take the aspect of certain things of the DHC glitch out. Like I think you should still be able to use it to extend combos and stuff like that but I think they should remove the fact that it resets the damage. There’s no reason for it to do THAT. They can still have it in and have it just still be damage scaled. No reason they can’t do that.

      • the7k

While the DHC glitch makes characters like Jill usable, it makes already incredible characters like Wesker into Gods.

Perhaps they should make something for JILL to make her useful. If resetting damage on DHC was something exclusive to Jill, maybe I could see where you are coming from.

  • akumous

I am strongly against a new disc version of game, especially since the game is not a year old yet. I’d like to see the rest of the remaining two characters DLC announce and few extra stages, or a couple, as DLC and the rest of costume packs they’ve promised.

    • raymk

Sf4 wasn’t a year old yet when they revealed it either. Relax the game is gonna come out next year around or before sf x tekken release.

  • Zerokaiser

    Nerf X factor.

    just do it.

  • chirp

i hope the only dlc they release is a USA flag costume for every character.

    • thejohnsonrock

lololol and do that on the 4th of july to tell these fools to be proud and stop whining

  • mothugs

If you read this capcom. Just give us an option to turn of X-factor. Please. I promise they’ll stop bitching.

    • LuMaLo

without x factor the game would be much much much more unbalanced than it is, some characters would be able to kill u or almost kill u in one combo just like they are able to do now, and the others who can only do it with x factor, wont be able to do it nemore…

  • TRU

Sweet! Super MVC3 double impact hyper fighting turbo alpha v 1.1
only 30.00/ 45 if you dont own the first copy.

    (5 months later) SMVC3DIHF ALPHA 2 PLUS 1. 1/2

    • zoodason

      lol

    • the mossad man

      He’s in my head!!

  • GomuGomu

Just give me Jin, more stages (esp Capcom ones), Nerf X-factor and I’ll buy.

    • thejohnsonrock

^This, and some esoteric capcom characters like breath of fire ryu or streetfighter 3 Q; stuff that’ll blow your mind seeing it in action.

      • the mossad man

We don’t need Q in this game although i will admit that he would DESTROY 90% of the cast if they gave him his Taunt. They don’t want that. I wish he could’ve made AE. Still hoping for Q in SFxT…

Need moar HUGO! What about that Jericurl son??

  • KerryFigs

    Ah.. The SFIV Generation.

    • AmishOpiate

This is just the way it is going to be with games; the days of games being finished upon their release date are over, and it didn’t start with SFIV.

      • the7k

Hell, I’d argue games rarely ever WERE finished. Lord knows how many ‘updates’ were made to Street Fighter II. Hell, I think anyone who actually played the original Street Fighter could tell even that game wasn’t ‘finished’.

Fighting games were founded on the idea of “We’ll fix it later.”

    • MavFan619

More like the generation of DLC, patching, and XBLA and PS Store. That’s where the industry is at right now.

  • Pingback: Blit.com.mx – Videojuegos, Tecnología, Geeks, Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Kinect, Move

    • TooItchy

      I second this. Noticias indeed.

  • itsOneO

if they regulate xfactor, add a TON of new stages, more characters with a fighting chance, & spectator mode.. i’ll buy Super MVC3 for $40 bucks.

Capcom made a mistake by releasing MVC3 in February the way it was. I wanted MVC3 like the next man, but not if its incomplete.

  • rabbitreaper17

If they were going to have more characters, they would have a character leak list by now lol but I guess theres not.

  • Tranquillity

I remember the days when a game was released and that was IT. Why does everyone want to play a game that’s always changing? Release the game, and move on to another one. Enough of this crap.

    • TerraZero

The six versions of SF2 (not counting HDR) want to say “Hi.”

      • bigdaddy4

        don’t forget SF3 and BBCS.

  • SupaRubz

it will be a new shadow pack lol

  • AmishOpiate

It has been weird how Capcom has just completely forgotten about Marvel DLC, especially alternate costumes; maybe they overestimates how popular Shadow and Event modes were going to be? It’s nice to know Marvel hasn’t been forgotten/

    • thejohnsonrock

nah i’d say the reception has been totally horrible since the outcry over dlc being on the disc, and when people said how useless the shadow packs were. man it’s like everyone was whining and snapping at capcom for doing what they do, so maybe they’re saving it all for a “super” version.

  • TerraZero

I don’t mind a SMvC3. If they give it the SSFIV treatment.

I DO have a problem with them doing it for a game that is only 4 months old.

  • BiGGDaddyCane

    FarmerCom

And the fans are the Cows.

And FarmerCom Milking yall until you squirt dry.

    Lol, Just kidding just kidding…………

    • thejohnsonrock

i got the analogy but after i did i didn’t want to. i dry-heaved a little but it was hella funny tho

  • MetalNeverDies

Nerf Xfactor, Buff the weaker characters like Cap and leave the stronger characters alone.

    • Nitro263

This. Although a damage decrease across the board (a la SSFIV) would be nice, and a reduction in hitstun scaling with it would help low tiers more than high tiers.

  • Diernes

New version with all the characters that didn’t make the cut, I’m especially looking at you Psylocke and strider.

More stages and a nerf to x-fagtor please.

  • Da Boogeyman

Megacrash would save this game from being whoever gets the first hit wins

that is all i want, cost of red life and 2 meters would be cool

also want more characters and stages

    • thejohnsonrock

      that’s a great idea

  • TaeKwonFloe

People will complain no matter what. For those of you trolls saying this game was incomplete….really? How many of the characters in this one have seen tournament play vs MvC2 which no ones complains about. I have seen almost every character in tournaments now. Except maybe Spider-Man.

  • SF-Zero2

If you think this game was actually complete, you’re a complete and utter moron, and exactly the the type of customer Capcom is counting on to continue with the $60 beta business model.

    • TerraZero

Can you explain exactly what the game is missing? Not counting spectator mode as Capcom has been pretty clear that they have no intention of putting that in the game, and I could care less if they do.

      • SF-Zero2

See SSF4′s package. See SF4 Vanilla Package. How do they lose so much when they’re going forward? Why add lobbies when no one can spectate? Why can’t I kick people out of my lobby if their connection sucks? Why can’t I sign in with my arcade stick at the title screen without going into an endless loop that requires me to dashboard, unlike every other fighting game out there(including Capcom’s). Why does the netcode suck, still…….come on man, you don’t buy the Avatar BluRay with just the movie when it’s clear they’re gonna bring out a special edition, right?

        • GM Dak

So a bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with sitting next to your opponent and having great gameplay.

  • FirstBlood

If Capcom knew what they were doing they would have fixed the matchmaking in MvC3 so that people continued to play the game and would actually want to buy Super MvC3

  • Daemon Gildas

That’s sounds like “Fuck all” is our answer. I’m not one to bash a company, but Capcom clearly doesn’t plan to ever give its fanbase an honest answer. Honestly, if they don’t intend to do any more DLC, I’d be fine with that, but give us a bloody answer, will ya?

I will say this, though; if the rumors are true about a “Super MvC3″, then they had better A) Make it downloadable, or B) give us one hell of a trade-in, because I’ve had enough milking from Street Fighter IV.

  • d3f1anc3

Yea… something else then consistent Shadow Battle DLC would be nice.

  • GomuGomu

    Oh yeah, and fix online.

  • pmcfarlin

Nerf X-Factor or remove(doubt they can do it) but still and Add dlc characters if possible.

  • WINBACK

    Don’t fix online.
    Don’t add characters.
    Don’t add costumes.
    Don’t add shadow battles.
    Don’t add extra modes.

Just fix the fucking gameplay. It’s horrible. Oh wait…I forgot. Casual players and scrubs are the future.

    • GomuGomu

What’s wrong with the gameplay? srs

    • boogityboy

hmm maybe you should watch the “running sets” video on crosscounter with combofiend and mike ross. Then maybe you’d see the what a good player looks like.
If you’re having issues with “casuals and scrubs” then you sir need to learn to play it.

      • thejohnsonrock

good tip! about to enjoy me some crosscounter right now :D

  • Misdreavus

Dan, Roll, R. Mika and Franziska von Karma for SMvC3!

  • Kaijima

In point of fact, some old and mostly ignored quote from Capcom Japan was to the effect that “MVC3 DLC plans have been altered by the Japanese disaster situation”. If you think that’s bunk, think again: the entire Japanese economy is in turmoil, and big companies are all buckling down, canceling expensive plans, and hoarding their resources.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Capcom’s executive branch put an outright freeze on all non-critical projects – which means stuff like DLC. At least until they reviewed the financial plan and determined if they should keep pumping funding into it.

Also, this nonsense about “unfinished games” needs to stop purely on the grounds that any fool who thinks MvC2, that so-sacred cow of the FGC, was “finished” needs a reality check. Nobody has any room to bitch about MvC3, which even at launch, was about 10,000 times more complete, polished, and balanced, than MvC2.

People who grew up with arcades merely labor under a delusion because when you were a damned teenager you didn’t know any better. Those games seemed immutable and “official” to you, because they were in a big arcade cab.

Hell, Capcom’s own arcade games were often broken and buggy and *got patched*. You just never saw it ’cause you didn’t pay attention to the revision number when the machine booted up, and it wasn’t a download that you ever saw happen. So did everybody else’s arcade games.

If MVC3 was half as broken as MVC2 has always been, nobody would play it because people have nostalgia glasses on when looking back on things they remember fondly. But the reality is, that while MVC2 is considered an amazing game, the fact is that it was/is a thousand times more broken than mvc3 is. People just dislike any new updates to their favorite games. It doesn’t matter what the new version brings, or how good the game truly is, people will always think it’s not as good as their favorite version. This is just the way it is. Personally, I didn’t play a ton of MVC2 back in the day, I liked the SF games better, but I have MVC3 now, and I think it’s an awesome game. Sure, it’s got it’s problems, but the game is fun, and minus a few “features” that need major tweaking/removal (X-Factor, netcode, etc.) the game is a very solid foundation, and I think is way more balanced than MVC2 ever was, and in my personal opinion, more fun. (Don’t flame please, I already stated I didn’t play a lot of it, and it wasn’t my style back then.)

    • Rhio2k

      Quote Foxstep CEO

      MvC2 = 10 years solid, update-free

…And THAT’S because capcom fans in the 2d era always adopted the latest 2d fighter in a series as the absolute BEST game in said series. Mvc2 was just a mugen-esque mess, and those who didn’t like it didn’t play it. Those who played it either loved it unconditionally because it was the latest and/or though they found stuff they didn’t like (like the small top tier absolutely owning the game), they just knuckled up and accepted it as “the way things were going to be from now own”.

Why would there be a super marvel. Its not street fighter and correct me if im wrong but there hasnt been a revamp or upgrade of any individual marvel series game other than maybe arcade patches or poor ps1 ports. If you havent noticed all the content has been dlc so far, most notable shuma and jill. The character select screen could realistically add 4 more characters without altering the screen if they take out the random slots. I dont think it would be worth making a “SUPER” version because shuma and jill are already on the disc and i dont think 4 more characters would call for a new disc version. It would be cheaper to just dlc it. If you ask me they shouldnt change the game at all. Its a piece that was not created by you so you should take it how it is or dont play it.

  • Orlhajoetoe

Goddamn… how did they fuck up Marvel 3 so badly?!

    • TooItchy

It’s really not as fucked up as people act like it is.

  • zherow

This is getting beyond retarded. I always think of Bloody Roar 2/3, Tekken 6, DBZ Budokai 3 and Blazblue CT/CS when it comes to options. It is a shame that BR 2 & 3 had nearly three times the modes of gameplay when these games are archaic. I mean, doing the following (hell, half of these things would be awesome) would be great:

Nerf X-Factor and give an option to turn it off

    Fix online

    Add characters

    A Custom Mode (see Bloody Roar 2 & 3)

    Add stages

    Allow for 1 v 2, 1 v CPU, CPU v 2, and CPU v CPU

An option of selecting how many people are on a team (See Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2)

Have Desk test your game before you release it

HOW TO BUILD A BETTER MVC3

    • b3nz0r

      lol, CPU v CPU

What the hell would be the point in that?

      • zherow

Spectator mode, so you can see what the computer will do and help you form strategy options, homey.

        • ExHaseo

If you have to watch the fail CPU in order to “form strategy options”, then I’m sorry.

          • zherow

Just an option. You never know, you might just catch something interesting. Besides, it would be great for beginners, because, you know, not everyone is God-tier in the first 40 seconds of playing the game

  • RoboGem II

If desk joins the capcom team that means he can’t complete in tournaments anymore. Not sure how keen capcom is on letting independents beta test console games

    • zherow

The last one was not meant to be serious, but look what NRS did for Mortal Kombat; had tournament level players go through the game with a fine tooth comb. Granted, they did not find everything, but MK would have looked very different had they not done so

  • o a tomahawk o

You guys are beyond dumb, there will probably be super MVC3 or GOTY MVC3 but not 4 months after release. Use your brains, the earliest announcement would be next year it’s obvious it’s going to be DLC characters.

  • Aukmaud

    When is spectator mode coming?

  • boogityboy

Another thing everyone is missing on the licensing side of this game is that the game started development in early 2008 and all licensing was probably figured out by then or in the “works” with Marvel.
Then in 2009 Disney purchased Marvel for $4 billion and new licensing deals probably had to be worked out with some still hanging in the limbo of lawyer hell.

  • xero15

ill buy it simply if they correct the combo system so more characters have free range of combo options like dante does.

  • darth_nevermore

they havent even said what it is and yet everyone starts bitching about would it could be and why it sucks, despite not existing.

i swear it must be the ‘cool’ thing these days to just bitch like middle aged house wives.

  • Exalted-1

Please stop talking about a super version. The game can out in February for crying out loud. I don’t need new characters right now anyways, just nerf or remove xfactor and that would be huge

  • Ultrabison

Bitch bitch bitch the chances are there is either fook all in the pipeline for dlc and capcom dont want to just say “Hey screw ya’ll we aint thinking about your game at the moment we have other projects we wonna complete first” (ssf4ae) or if they do have dlc plans it will be something that is completely pointless and not worth the download.

Anyway once AE drops mvc3 will be dead.

    • Blacksonic21

I love when people say MvC3 will die once AE drops. People that have played the game are already speaking of their dislike for it. Not to mentions it’s not like AE hasn’t been on streams with MVC3 and the numbers don’t lie. Stream numbers are higher when Marvel is on.

      • TooItchy

This may be true, but that is only because there is an overwhelming number of casual fans who get back to COD after playing marvel, and will never touch another fighting game. Not to hate on Marvel, I have it, and I like the game a lot, but the fact is MVC3 attracts a much wider, much more dumb audience than SF ever will, simply because SF takes too much thought and not a ton of action, where as MVC3 at even the highest levels doesn’t require the intricate movements, and mind games that SF does. So casuals hop on stream, watch some flashy matches of MVC3, then leave when SF comes on because they don’t know anything about fighting games.

Oh, and while Marvel is on, all they do is bitch about how much they hate SF because it’s “boring”

    • TooItchy

MVC3 won’t die with AE, MAYBE after Evo (only in the tournament scene, if that). But for some reason I don’t think it will, a lot of people really like the game, and it does take proper execution in terms of inputs, not so much timing, so there is tons of room for improvement, even with top level players.

But if they don’t do something about X-Factor and all the other little things that mess up the game, it may very well be short lived. Unfortunately, seeing as how I am just not getting into it.

  • mega_buster

I doubt it will be called super mvc3 it’s gonna be a big dlc thing and they will offer a disc re-release idk but I hope they do it this way oh an nerf xfactor an Iam happy

  • sgb

I am totally shocked they released a late beta and will probably ask for money to add in all the missing features, bugfixes and balance changes the game needs. Of course it will be sugarcoated with some shiny new characters and everyone will praise them.

No, wait, I saw this coming miles away and sold the game off for nearly a full refund after seeing the horrible online. But from the responces here it seems fanboys will eat it up and pay anything Capcom asks. Just fucking admit it.

    • TooItchy

      LOL, someone’s upset about nothing.

  • ploftkaploft

Looking forward for E3, mostly because we may get the release date for 3SO and more info on SFxTK.

  • Aloci

    Can they add Rogue please?

  • X-ecutah

I’m back to MVC 2 guys, waiting for SMVC 3

  • Dawn

I think I’ll go pray for some Talbain announcement now.

    • thejohnsonrock

      that would be SO SEXY

  • Bebop129

Maybe its because of the fucking obvious TSUNAMI that happened.

They themselves that’s what was slowing down possible DLC.

  • darth_nevermore

i think people take up more time bitching on this sight than they actually do playing the game they are bitching about.

    • thejohnsonrock

      A-friggin-GREED

  • MowatMan

We all know we want Phoenix Wright dlc.

  • Budukai

If they have dlc characters it’ll be two again. The first to hit the field on the capcom side will be Frank West, remember how he almost came out but they decided to make him a DLC. As far as Marvel, it’s pretty much free range, but I’m willing to bet someone from the X-men, possibly Cyclops. But Im jumping ahead of myself here, the only real answer we may get is next week hopefully, but I find no news is bad news in a situation such as this. I wouldn’t mind just costumes, just give me something and I’ll bite, just no more of this shadow battle crap D=<

    • triplexraider

There’s also that Doctor Octopus rumor since he was found in disc data for the game. So, if anything, it could be Frank West & Doc Ock.

  • geehhdogg

Just gimme Carnage, Ghost Rider, and Nightcrawler, and I’ll be happy! Don’t really care too much for the Capcom side. If only Spawn were part of either Marvel or Capcom. SIGH!

  • Zebster

ITT: Bitching over speculation and other unproven things.

  • Scapegoat

I don’t see what is so wrong with X-Factor. Both players have it, I mean if one X-Factors fight with them, and if your unfortunate enough for them to get you down to your last character X-Factor and yours will outlast theres and basically counteract theres. It just adds strategy to the game. Like if you have a character nearly dead and you X-factor cancel a combo early in the game. You removed the character but you also put yourself in a position with that back up plan. Stop crying, leave the game alone. Get good at what your given, or don’t play.

    • thejohnsonrock

AGREED DOUBLE. how many people gotta whine about x-factor, whine about dante, whine about phoenix, whine about things that are validly part of the game and NOT GLITCHES. i can understand DHC glitch, but at the same time, it’s up to capcom if they want to leave it in. i don’t have to use DHC glitch to win and shit it’s not like i’m trying to make a living off of fighting games. i think the people who are doing that have a lot more at stake than some chode plugging into the net just to lose and cry. jeez people, STFU about this game if you don’t like it and go sell it. if you DO like it, then do something constructive like join capcom-unity and REQUEST (not demand) REQUEST the characters you want for future updates. your sixty dollars does not entitle you to beat up on the providers.

  • SVN4

    Add a Turbo speed Capcom.

  • KarateLincoln

    lol at people

  • Aerial

    Gambito???

  • Akumashadow

Give me Venom, remove X-Factor, more stages, tweak some overpowered characters (Im lookin at you Wesker and Dante), fix online and give us Spectator and Replay modes….

  • Gamer D-Wreck

This game is only 4 months old right? Wow at all the crap I’m reading. Anyway you have to think about the money aspect of this like someone pointed out earlier. Is it worth it for Capcom to fork money into a game that only 1 country plays and that country is split on it. How much money Capcom loss with people not buying the DLC packs they put out. And with to new major projects in the works (SF x T & 3rd Strike online) that will sell better around the world and help us make alot of the money we lost thanks to the earthquake and the PSN crash back, is it really worth it? The game is STILL new after all with one core audience in mind so don’t be surprised if they don’t touch MvC3 for awhile.

  • friggin lasers

“This may be true, but that is only because there is an overwhelming number of casual fans who get back to COD after playing marvel, and will never touch another fighting game.
Oh, and while Marvel is on, all they do is bitch about how much they hate SF because it’s “boring” ”

    qft
i am one of those players , too dumb to play SF but I love MvC2/3 and he is absolutely right.

  • sektah84

IMO I wouldn’t be surprise if they release an updated version like supersfiv with new characters and stages etc next summer just in time for the avengers flick.

  • Choxie808

Just give us a spectator function, DHC glitch fix, a few nerfs/buffs, a handful of new characters, then we’re all good. Screw costume packs for now, the one already out makes them look even uglier.

  • Rhio2k

I’d be happy with a Wesker nerf. Add Iron Fist, Lyra, Tigra, Demitri, Gallon, or Ken. That would make me happier. And no “Fufufufu you should’ve waited, now we’re gonna release the REAL, full version” Smvc3 shit, please. That’s some Ono bullcrap. Nobody wants to end up paying over a hundred bucks for one game.

  • OnDrawnWings

Crying over X-Factor is like admitting that you get up every day and eat your scrub Wheaties, put on your scrub shorts and drive your scrub car to your scrub job…wait…I don’t think I’ve been clear…

  • Artowis

Some of the unrequited love for MVC2 just fuels my thought that a fair number of people who say they love MVC2 only played it a few times and actually just love watching the highest level of play in the game. They don’t give a shit how broken it was just because they didn’t actually deal with any of it. Obviously the people who have played the game for half it’s lifespan or longer are going to love it, but seriously some of the reasons MVC3 gets dissed while MVC2 is on a pedestal is just absurd.

  • DevilJin 01

Bringing up the whole “people just watch and play marvel on streams cuz it’s dumber than SF” argument is retarded. Weren’t people shitting on Tekken for the last 2 years on streams when SFIV was the big shit and Tekken got shit on as the “boring juggle” game? I find Tekken completely more entertaining to watch than any SFIV match but that’s just me. Plenty of people still watch SFIV matches when they come on during streams and Tekken still gets shit on far more just because people dont understand it. If SFIV loses some people because they think it’s boring (because it is to me any way) then whatever. People think Tekken is boring somehow too. Welcome to the old days of fighting games where people actually cared about more than one fighter. If anything SFIV monsters got what they’ve had coming for a long time. A game that makes their game look boring.

Sure Marvel has its dumb shit like any fighting game but at high level play you can’t just be doing stuff and expect to win matches. You’re going to get air thrown out of obvious tri jumps and crouch or stand normal anti aired out of your air Tron H spam or guard cancel XF’d on your Wolvie dive kick etc. Just because people play it stupid online doesn’t mean everyone plays it stupid offline too. People say SFIV is just jabbing and blocking low all day and Tekken is just juggling and hop kicking all day? Is that really what the games are about entirely? No, but there’s certain aspects of those games that people dont care and they’ll make prejudices out of those things. Just what happens.

I always thought SFIV was a boring game in general just because any other SF game ever played at a faster pace and had more interesting offensive tools once you closed the gap on the opponent. In SFIV your opponent never really has to fear anything when you close the gap on them minus select characters and with the game’s low damage output makes the matches rather dull for me. In games like ST, 3S and even Marvel 3 when you get in you get access to a lot of powerful things so it forces people to take their spacing more seriously. In ST even if Guile got in your face it was a big problem even though that wasn’t his strongest play style. All it took was eating two throws while Guile was pressuring you after a gap close any you had problems. Same with Oro or Remy in 3S. They didn’t have to get in and could just beat you through spacing but if you let them get in they could mess you up pretty nice also.

  • kinetic-1

two things I want from this…gambit please?

    and……

    FIX THE FUCKING CARD HUMPING!

  • Carl Nollie

the game is fine the way it is… IDk why people think a shit load of character especially un playable ones like in MVC2 and a storyline would make this game any better… tekken 6 story mode and extras still wasnt good enough to keep that game breathing lol

  • Razing Phoenix

Make the game more like TvC. Where my mega crash at? Spectator mode please. I’m good after that.

  • Kimicario

So much for the good people at SRK liking fighting games. I guess Capcom should have never bothered making Marvel. Oh well, I guess I’ll hop on online and play some more.

  • PongBoom

So much bitching, jeez. Why don’t you play some games instead of being a whiny douche.

  • KawoXD

im waiting for Venom and Strider Hiryu as DLC. WHERE THE FUCK IS VENOOOMMM??? dont tell me hes too much like spider-man, if they can have hulk and she-hulk they can have my fcking symbiote.

that and a replay channel is all i really ask for.

  • juggernaut1981

The game is still brand spankin’ new. They’re going to milk this thing out for a while longer before they touch it with DHC characters and new disc releases. It was almost a year an a half’s difference between the vanilla arcade release and SSF4, and almost a year between Super and AE. Marvel 3 only came out about 4 months ago. I know it feels like forever but we did just get this game give them some time to make moves before crying that they’re staying tight lipped. They probably haven’t even figured out themselves what they’re going to do yet.

  • jnw93

the last 1s suk’d the new better be better

  • The_Cheat

How about fixing the lobby so we can actually watch the current match instead of those stupid cards bouncing around?

  • ginja_ninja

MvC3: AE. Calling it right now.

  • Rinzler

Balancing tweaks would be cool. Please buff morrigan!

But overall i think more characters would just be cool.

And seriously people where is marvel through all of this? capcom keeps saying things so why doesnt someone ask marvel what they have planned or what their thoughts were when picking characters?

  • araider08

Still trying to figure out why people play the game seriously…. Shame on those who call it a “good fighting game.” Can’t wait for 3SO!
