Skullgirls – Peacock in Motion

The RevergeLabs website has a few new videos featuring newly revealed Skullgirls fighter “Peacock”. The first of these videos is by far the most interesting as it shows off many of her American-cartoon-inspired moves, many of which pay homage to other video games. The other two videos are about the artwork in the game.

    Before this I had only ever seen the original launch trailer which I thought was a little meh, and I hadn’t paid any attention to this game until this post.

    After watching these, this game actually looks pretty rad. Totally gonna buy this.

    The animation in this game is godly. The backgrounds are a little plain jane, but the character animations are making it one of the prettiest looking fighting games I’ve ever seen. If only there was a chance in hell a Darkstalkers 4 would be made with a similar animation process.

    I dunno if this is just me, but I feel like the characters are not as easily distinguishable from the background as they should be. This is a big turn off for me personally. It’s a shame because it sounds like they’re putting a lot of thought into the fighting engine.

      I’m still hype for the game, but after watching these videos I have to agree with this comment. It is a little difficult to notice all the animations because of how they kind of blend in with the background.

    I was hype for this character before, but after seeing her in action and that shes FULL of references, I cant wait to see what else shes capable of . Funny that her super is a reference to Dizzys gamma ray super.

    I’m not a huge fan of the art style, but this game looks too solid and proper (especially in this era of 2D games) not to pick up. Keep it up Mr. Z and crew.

      Well, the last I checked you have a choice of picking your number of characters. The fewer you have on the team, the stronger each individual character is. Kinda like the ratio system from CVS2.

      but in a game like this team order is super important, plus you can choose literally any move to be your assist for each character, which is going to lead to some crazy variety.

      Peacock is one of THREE announced and finished characters. How can disliking the other two announced characters ruin the entire cast of a game we’ve yet to see even remotely finished?

    This is the fighting revolution I’ve been waiting for, the last 3 years of fighters have been quite disappointing, so it’s awesome to see a wholly original fighter with logical mechanics. Mike Z and co. have been putting in work and I thank them for it!

    Fantastic. I am very partial to american cartoon’s particularly from the 20’s and 30’s. This character is very eclectic. I can’t wait to see more.

    Huh. A weirdo who looks equal parts Raptor, B.B. Hood, Hsien-Ko, and a little something of her own. If I ever get the chance to play this game, I may just try her out as the freak (so far, anyway) amongst an all-woman cast.

    The gameplay looks like it’s a bit… muffled is the best word I can describe it. But maybe that’s just me.

    Now if only Darkstalkers 4 could ever exist in our world…

      Instead of retarding things by reinventing the wheel or fixing what’s not broken, this game seems to take the good aspects of fighters before this generation hit them, and refines them.
