Anyone who has practiced a combo in Street Fighter IV and then tried it on Blanka can tell you, the character you’re hitting is very important. Very few of the combos in Maj’s incredible TACV’s work fully on more than one or two characters, beacuse each dummy has unique quirks.

In older Capcom games, a dummy’s vulnerable area consists of invisible rectangles that loosely follow the sprites displayed on the screen. Using a hitbox viewer to peek under the hood, we can see the game engine handling these combat interactions. Red boxes represent attacks and blue boxes represent vulnerable spaces.

    You’re overestimated the comprehensive level of the mass community…the Dummies strategy guide is a little too complicated for the masses so it is best to downgrade it for the “retarded” edition so they can understand, somewhat.

      That guide is pretty much as straight forward as you can get, and it isn’t like aspiring combo makers are idiots.

    ^^^ before someone jumps on me, i was referring to the whole “hitboxes move around” thing. it allows combo video makers to find weird and creative setups, but for actually playing the game it feels sloppy and bad.

      This. I prefer how in older games the hurtboxes were more consistent. It’s one of the problems with the hitboxes in SF4.
