Mortal Kombat Legacy Episode 8 – Scorpion and Sub Zero Part 2

Mortal Kombat Legacy, The live action web-series that aims to set up a back story for many of the game’s characters, is now on Episode 8. The conclusion of the Scorpion and Sub Zero episode is more than predictable, but has quite a few nice touches in its presentation.

    Well at least SF isn’t a clunky & jerky gameplay when fighting & to me that is what will always make SF better than MK Imao. Nice story for the MK universe though.

      I’m actually kind of happy someone brought this up…
      NRS is particularly interested in how people see MK and how/where changes should be made. In fact the games been CONSTANTLY undergoing patches NRS is actually keeping an open mind to new ideas. Shame that Capcom doesn’t give a FAWK about anything you guys think or would like changed in recent tittles. When u punch in the facts in a few years MK might ACTUALLY be better than SF.

Felt really rushed at the end, but given the timeframe, I suppose I shouldn’t really be surprised. Great fight though.

The guy in the role of Quan Chi looks like the vocalist from Tool. Anyway… good episode, wonder wich character will the last episode be based on.

i can see ed boons grubby hands all over this; that’s why the episodes suck. well, they don’t entirely suck, but they start off good and then it’s like kevin was told to cram in all the mk universe nonsense. i remember ed saying he was meeting with kevin, and i bet they told him he couldn’t do all that cool stuff he did in the rebirth trailer.

kevin: “it’s gonna be awesome, i’ve got this great ide–”
ed: ” woah woah, that’s great and everything, but maybe you could add a little bit of the stuff from the games.”
kevin: ” a little bit?”
ed: “all of it.”

hence, the stink of boon’s terrible creative direction strikes again.

  What? It seems in movies that it is completely the opposite. The directors and scriptwriters have way too much artistic freedom. This stuff needs to stay in it’s roots, i’m not saying everything has to be precisely the same. Just no random shit like they pulled of in the x-men movies.

  LOL…Ed Boon is the root of the whole series and plot…Anything he says is right. The episodes have been outstanding to the majority…You must be the minority living in a sad world.

This isn’t supposed to be a continuation of the rebirth storyline, seriously MK story is too ridiculous unless it was a huge budget production and thats not likely to ever happen, so it would have been good to see a rebirth type movie.

A lot of this episodic stuff is coming off very cheesy with no consistency. That said, this was the best episode so far…

Dubstep is now the official music of the MK franchise, haha (I mean this in a good way). It makes me wish SF would go back to using Hip Hop as their official music style….

When the teaser came out, I felt it was a promising beginning. I thought they would dispense with the cheese and do realistic, gritty martial-arts based action with a hint of mysticism. I was especially impressed with the portrayal of Scorpion. I thought “where’s my movie?!? I’d pay to see that!”

This latest couple of episodes with Scorpion and Sub-Zero shows that the creators are falling short of the promise of the teaser. They were cheesy beyond belief. I could not suspend disbelief for this pile. Johnny Cage, I could buy. This, I can’t.

Honestly this could have been attached to the last episode and given us another episode after Cyrax and Sektor [or a part 2 because I doubt they'll be able to go in depth into who they were before automation, the automation process itself all in maybe 5 or 6 minutes if we're lucky.]

I wish Capcom cared half as much about their fans. Live action pieces done with love, constant feedback with the pros to polish their product. No intentionally broken pieces of filth like A.E. shoved down our throats. No constantly being trolled by the producer. (If I see another post with that stupid Ono Blanka doll I may have to replace a monitor). I hate to agree with an earlier post but as much as it tears me to say “MK may end up eventually being better than SF”. But I’ll never leave Capcom for MK, I feel like a battered wife sometimes.
