Fantastic Blazblue Continuum Shift 2 combo video for Tsubaki, which also includes some great resets. Check out the elavator combo about three minutes into the video. Note that using gold bursts mid combo in BBCS2 actually smooths the damage/hitstun scaling, which is key to some of the later combos.

    I never really played tsubaki, but the general consensus pre CS2 was she was bad. How is she faring now?

      She’s considered strong, about A tier I guess. Her damage is better, she gets charge more easily, and she has some nice changes to some of her specials. For example, her QCB series has body and head invuln so you can use it to invuln through a lot of things, sort of like noel’s 4d if it moved forward. Additionally, her QCF series is now + frames if you land it near the end of the active frames. (they’re all -5 on block on the first active frame, and they have 10 active frames, so a fullscreen QCF+heavy would be +5 on block. The hitboxes aren’t that great though, so you have to be careful, but it’s a really nice tool.)

        Er, forgot to note: The invuln in her QCB series doesn’t start on the first frames and doesn’t last through the active frames, so you have to be smart about timing it, but still nice tools.

        Haven’t really had a chance to dig in too deep with CS2 yet. Only had time to mess with Noel so far, but hopefully soon i can dig back in to Tsubaki and see how I can use all those new tools.

    Not quite Nibelung Valesti…. but close enough lol. Although I can’t part with Ragna, Tsubaki interests me greatly just for resembling a Valkyrie.

    Not really #4. Bang and Rag did much higher damage combos. But with your old gen games they just play some music and get some people hyped without showing any real game play just input.

      What does bang and rag have to do with tsubaki having nice combos? She did come from bottom tier after all and bang sucks hard now so his high damage combos mean nothing. Rags ain’t so hot this time around either but since this game is better balanced he’s still good but his combos ain’t all that.

    dag, the sooner the game designers get over this ‘lol 30 second combo’ fetish, the better off we’ll all be.

      You know how hard and situational that shit is? Some of those combos used two bursts and two rapid cancels. These are not bread n’ butters here that the designers just threw into the game willy-nilly. If you can pull off a 30 second combo, you deserve the reward.

    Oh yeah in what tier list? The Japanophile Boner tier list? That must put Platinum in S+ or perhaps Banned Tier (considering how BB fans are).

        Actually, this is the tier list I was referencing, from the latest Arcadia, mostly similar to what you posted:

        S: Makoto, Jin, Noel, Hazama
        A: Valkenhayn, Taokaka, Rachel, Arakune, Carl, Tsubaki
        B: Mu, Platinum, Ragna, Bang, Litchi, Hakumen, Lambda
        C: Tager

    I have a question for all BB players. I want to give this game another shot, but don’t know who to main. I was a Chipp player in GG, and I prefer combo based characters. Any suggestions?

      LOL, if you’re like me and decided to give the game a shot, then you will eventually drop it. Nobody in this game plays like anyone from guilty gear…hell the entire game mechanics is nothing like guilty gear.

    Crazy good video. Fun to see a Tsubaki video as well, as I main her, and it feels like 90% are Ragna/Jin videos.

    Also, I like this song. Heard it once when it was linked in the “Currently listening to” thread. Was a nice surprise :)
