  • GenesisXero

God damn I wish these episodes were longer than 7 mins :(

  • houseofchacon

    Best episode yet I think.

  • YoungJRunner14

    This is dope

  • axi0m

Even though I don’t main either of them (though I was a heavy Scorpion/Human Smoke user in UMK3) I think out of the entire MK mythos the story involving these two is the best.

  • GouShRyuKen

Its great that they are making these series, I am cant wait on a SF serires to surface, comon guys make one.

  • dancingphlower

This is my favorite episode so far.

  • randomjohn

Funny I always thought Scorpion was the evil one between the two. Then I realized Subzero destroyed his family and clan and Scorpion is just out for revenge. That hellish appearance doesn’t make him the good out of the two I can tell you that much haha.

    • MetroidBlack

same here lol. i thought scorpion was the bad one but after watching this sub-zero is the bad one >.>’ damn

      • King Rizz

Except there’s much more duplicity involved than people think.
        *SPOILER ALERT*

Quan Chi is the one who set the whole process up so that way he could enslave Scorpion’s soul to his will. Quan Chi tricked the Lin Kuei into destroying Scorpion’s home and had Sub Zero ordered by the grand master to kill Scorpion….later however, Scorpion (as a spectre) killed Sub Zero during the first tournament, afterwards Sub Zero’s soul was then enslaved by Quan Chi and he became the wraith, Noob Saibot. It was all just a trick by Quan Chi to enslave the world’s two greatest assassins.

However when the younger Sub Zero gets involved, he turns out to be much more heroic than his brother….more along the Batman kind of heroic though.

  • Robo-mitsu

Fucking awesome, and infinitely better than the game’s ‘angsty’ version of Scorpion.

  • thepan

    3 Things:

    1) My years of perception toward Scorpion has changed drastically after this short.. Poor Scorpy :”(

    2) I love the fact that the costumes stays true to the Japanese Culture. Not exactly the same as in video games, nor modernized. Just traditionally tailored, if ya know what I’m sayin.

    3) I Love Sub-Zero <3 …not the older one of course :P

  • Banzboy

    I WANT MOAR DAMMIT!! MOAR!!!

  • Mr.Chang

Wish Sub-Zero would speak Mandarin….He IS Chinese after all :) .

  • Super Justin

Not long enough but i was hoping to see rebirth scorpion and rebirth sub zero.

  • option.iv

No offense to the actors, but the Japanese just sounded off. I know most of them don’t speak it fluently, but I think it wouldn’t be bad if the whole thing was in English. Good episode though.

  • Hawkingbird

Awesome episode. Considering it was a period piece I’m surprised they used Bi Han. I would think they would have used an ancestor. Bi Han is the 5th person to use the mantle of Sub-Zero.

  • Huey Freeman

and that is why scorpion is my favorite mortal kombatant

  • DelPiero

Nice episode, one of the best so far.

  • NeoBlood

Did a painting/redesign of Scorpion, check it out at http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?p=3082861#post3082861

    • Halbard100

      Cool idea. Looks good.

  • Articuno76

I realise this might not be an issue for those who don’t understand much Japanese but for those that do, the fact that non-native actors were used is highly irksome. Their delivery comes of as stilted and just plain bad.

    • snkcube

Yeah, I noticed their Japanese was strange, especially the female.

    • LostOnPenalties

I too noticed it, but I can’t be too harsh on them. The beginning narrative was fine and the kid was good enough, but the actor playing Scorp sounded like Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai.

I very much enjoyed this, as I have the other films, but it was a tad difficult to follow. Also, since I’m nit-picking, how did all that snow get to Kumamoto?

  • darth_nevermore

awesome, they should just have a series about the two clans.

  • Diernes

It’s a little complex and got a bit silly in the later games, but basically…

There are two sub zero’s in the story line. Bi-han is the evil one, his brother is not really evil, but goes after scorpion to avenge his brother in mk2 and takes the mantel of Subzero to do it as some sort of honor thing. Scorpion is just a specter out for revenge, if he is evil or not is out for debate =P, he was an assassin ion life after all.

But, in the later games the original subzero that killed Scorpion in life was actually Quan Chi in disguise. IN the latest game when you win with subzero (the second, tundra) they both become protectors of earthrealm and take revenve on subzero’s clan which quan chi used to decieve them both

  • MAXOUT12

Sweet eps guys keep it up

  • Jumei

Yeah this one was good, waiting on part2

  • Truegamer

This was awesome, cant wait for Part 2 as well!!!

  • Kumablade

This episode was tight like a lot

  • samuraix025

my favorite was jax vs kano, the guy got his eye punched out lol. this one is good though, I hope most people aren;t saying its good just because their weeaboo is showing lol. but yea I always wondered how the lin quei and the hisashi clan even met if one is a chinese group and the other japanese, but apparently there are black lin quei so I gave up making sense of it lol. and finally play MK9′s story mode and play scorps and subs and noobs ending and you will realize neither sub is evil, its the lin quei and quan chi who are the jerks

  • d3f1anc3

Easily the best episode yet, I really feel like they nailed this.

Lets hope part 2 is more or less nothing but an epic fight.

  • mcgowanshewrote

this one was good but too short

  • Gungagalunga

they need to just go ahead and make a movie.. these episodes kill me.
so far this is already the best epidsode and its only halfway : )

  • Dogma

Bi-Han has always been the most badass, The coolest character in MK? No. The most badass? Yes.

  • Rhio2k

Wow…still too american. The producers showcase their ignorance of japanese: According to it’s pronunciation, Bi Han should be spelled BAI Han, and “Lord Ryuk”? Japanese don’t end their words on consonants. It should be Ryuku. I’m really surprised, though, that they even had actual asians, let alone japanese-speaking asians in this ep in the first place. To tell the truth. I thought they were gonna round up a few more caucasians for these parts.

  • YanDaMan

Best episode so far, definitely makes up for the lacking episodes prior to this. Can’t wait for the next one.

  • 2xhTenchi

Worst episode. I liked them all before, but the horrible japanese just broke it. The only native speaker of the episode is the kid, they could have had the whole episode dubbed by native speakers, or at least do everything in english.
The poor accent just kills the whole setting for me…
