Community members Fugee and Ghaleon are back, once again, to bring you their annual gift to fighting game players everywhere;  Seasons Beatings 4!   Running at MoMo2 KTV in Columbus Ohio starting tomorrow and going all weekend long, Seasons Beatings is in its fourth year and has become the tournament hot-spot for the cold winter season.

This year’s main event will be a rematch of the Evo2k9 Street Fighter 4 finals, in which Daigo “The Beast” Umehara will face off against Justin Wong in a first-to-ten-wins battle for worldwide supremacy.    On top of that, tournaments for the hottest fighting games will be running all weekend with a live stream showing off the best and brightest matches from the USA’s greatest competitors.    While the Daigo v. Justin event will not be streaming, the finals will be streamed all weekend, with the hottest games finishing up on Sunday.   And as the icing on the delicious cake, Seth Killian himself will be in attendance to lend his commentary to the proceedings.  Rumor has it that he is bringing the latest build of the US version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom with him to show off as well!

You can live it through the live video stream this weekend, or buy that last minute flight and come join us in Ohio for a holiday bash like you’ve never seen.  Stay tuned to Shoryuken.com for a link to the live streaming site, or just keep an eye on the thread in our forums.

In the continuing coverage of the upcoming release of Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars today IGN “revealed” 2 more characters of the game’s roster. Science Ninja Team Gatchaman’s Joe the Condor for Team Tatsunoko and Maverick Hunter Zero from the Mega Man X series for Team Capcom. Joe’s gameplay seems to be rooted from within the anime series while Zero’s bag of tricks seems to be rooted from earlier games in the X Series. Mainly the 4th and 5th iterations of the series to be precise. From the gameplay shown they seem to fit right in with the rest of the cast while being diverse in their own right. You can take a look at the full story from IGN in the source link below and the both vids of Joe the Condor and Zero in action. So revel in this and KEEP HYPE ALIVE EVERYBODY!!! Don’t forget that Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars is slated to be released in the US on January 26, 2010.

Super Street Fighter IV!

September 29th, 2009 by MrWizard in News |

Capcom has finally confirmed the widely rumored followup to the smash hit Street Fighter IV. Borrowing the SUPER title from the 90’s (and same exact logo), super implies bigger, badder, and beastlier. This sequel is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated fighting game sequels in 10 years.

Information is pouring out of Japan, just after the TGS show has ended. An interview with Ono, has revealed some juicy details about the game, including some of the new cast. T. Hawk, and Dee Jay are included, as well as a new Korean Tae Kwon Do martial arts expert named Juri, who is rumored to be one of Seth’s henchmen.

Last week, several websites had reported some rumors regarding the rest of the cast, and had the name of the new character before it was released yesterday.

Some of the information was listed as two new characters, Juri, and Hakan (Hakan being a Arab grappler associated with lots and lots of oils), and EIGHT returning cast members from other Street Fighter games. Dudley, Ibuki, and Makoto from the Street Fighter III series. From the Street Fighter Alpha series, we have Cody, Adon, and Guy, and from the Super Turbo series, we have T. Hawk and Dee Jay. We will have to wait and see what Capcom reveals to see if any of these rumors turn out to be true.

Expect massive changes in all the old returning cast as well. Improvements and overall gameplay will be fine tuned to make this the best Street Fighter to date.

Coming Exclusively to XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 in Spring 2010! Get Hype!!

Edit: Here is a video of T. Hawk, Dee Jay, and Juri in action!
